As a regular camper for many years I have a large number of lanterns of all kinds because pitching a tent in the countryside means that it gets really dark once the sun goes down. I especially enjoy candle light and have some cracking lantern versions of those which is essentially what this is, a gas version of a wax candle lantern. It is beautifully crafted and super solid with a real quality feeling. The metal parts are smooth and properly finished whilst the glass lantern cover is thick and strong so should manage little knocks. Filling the tank was simple and effective with the CP250 cartridge after which the lantern lit first time giving off a gas version of candle light. No issues in the wind where it stayed lit giving off a warm light. Do remember that as will all lanterns the glass does get hot in use so allow it to cool before putting it into the foam padded wooden case which is a great way to store it. Thats it, one of those wonderful items that you essentially don't need until you get it and then just enjoy having something so well made.

Campingmoon has changed the whole dynamic of minimalist camping/hiking with this little lantern. Not only does it surpass the brightness and utility of the UCO candle lantern, but the 15-19gram refillable butane cartridge it comes with can be used with a mini stove like the BRS 3000....so you can take it on an overnight hammock hang, cook your meals and light your evening with it. A fully charged tank will run a mini stove (wide open) for 22 min (it takes 3.5 min to boil 300ml of water)...as a lantern, it will run a med. flame for 10 hrs. It takes only 10 seconds to charge the tank from a standard 7" butane canister....but because the candle uses a Lindal valve aperture it will run on any standard IsoPro fuel canister like Primus or MSR.....very utilitarian piece of gear. The quality and durability of this item is superb - it's REALLY WELL MADE! (should last a lifetime if you keep some replacement o-rings) .... You may think the price of this butane candle is expensive but when you compare it to a UCO candle lantern with a top and side reflector and $1.50 candles, this gas lantern is in the same price range....and it packs smaller than a Primus mini gas lantern, plus you don't have to pack those bulky isopro canisters because this is self contained. I'm absolutely delighted with this new piece of gear and look forward to using it in the field this summer.

Bought the Gas Lantern T-1D15 version, the one that comes with the little tank for butane. Theres a version available without it - anyway, the lantern works perfectly, beautiful light on butane, an overpowered candle if you will.Few things to note: 1. This, nor will any other soft butane light of this style WITHOUT a mantle give off a lot of light, expect dim, cozy light - this is about ambience, coziness and comfort. Its a clean burning candle. IF YOU WANT MORE LIGHT: Get any camping lantern with a mantle, physics dictate that even the least powerful (but still cozy mantle light will give you a lot of light.. cough 300lumen propane.. cough).2. There are two versions of this light: one that comes with a little silver butane tank/base and one without. I got the one with the tank. The instructions for the one with the base/tank don't explain why the light flickers or any other issues you might encounter - but the Amazon page does.The tank is shipped empty for legal and safety reasons. Fill it with your choice of fuel, ronson multifill and bernzomatic Butane from Home Depot both work fine.1st time you use the tank, the light will go nuts, be prepared. When you use up your 1st tank/base and refill it, IF you overfill, it will go nuts. Just be prepared.IF YOU USE A EN417 canister thats pre-filled, be it of any size, it'll work perfectly right off the bat. For convenience reasons I tried the smallest (100-110g from Jetboil and a local one) and it was perfect. You can use it with a huge tank (16oz/450g/1lb EN417) for a longer run time.10/10

I wanted something like an adjustable candle to heat small tools. This is it. Nice machining and anodization. Really cool device. I wish it could burn for a bit longer, but I suppose I can buy a larger tank from campingmoon.

Really good looking and well made product. Small refillable canister can be used with camping stoves.
