This is a nice, old school lantern. It is well made of stamped steel, and is a simple and proven design with decades of performance.I purchased it for camping use, backyard use, and as a backup if electricity is lost. It does not create a lot of light, I would guess it is similar to a 40 watt incandescent bulb. But it provides the ambiance of a real flame and warm light, probably equal to 4 or 5 candles. So it won't blind you with light, but it will give you a very reliable and pleasant light. If you want a really bright light, go propane or coleman white gas. They make serious amounts of light.It will create some fumes, so outdoor use only is recommended. But people 100 years ago used the same lanterns indoors so you should be ok. Of course 100 years ago houses were not as well insulated and had much more air leaks, so keep a window open for ventilation if you use one today.But since I understand the limitations of this light, and appreciate it for what it is, I give it 5 stars.

一時期、信じられない高値が付いたが、ようやく落ち着いてきた。1台使っていて本当は芯をもう少し太くしたいが、やはりハリケーンランタンの教科書的基本形ということでもう一台買い足した。摺動部は他社よりもしっかりとした手ごたえで、好感が持てる。
