This flashlight has a lot of great features that I wish the X1 had. The UV light first of all is a huge bonus. I really needed one. Compared to the X1, this one is truly one you can stick in your pocket. It is very tiny and has quite a bit of heft to it. I was actually surprised at how small in my hands it is. You can tell it is built very well like the X1 too. Replaceable rechargeable batteries are a nice touch. It has a little locking feature that lets you quickly pop open the battery bay without any problems. Another nice touch is the locking mechanism for the light switch so you don't accidentally turn on the flashlight when you don't want to.The first image (the green one) is shining the UV light on a roll of glow in the dark PLA filament for a few seconds. This was taken after I turned off the flashlight. The UV light appears to work very well and also has a normal light mode built into it. Another feature I like was the ability to focus the beam (the second two images). You can roll a dial with your thumb that will adjust the beam.I had been using another Wuben product (Pioocan) as a flashlight that I use daily, but I am definitely switching to this one now.

I'm a flashlight junkie and this is one of my favorites. It's compact with various lighting settings and a long lasting pair of rechargeable internal batteries. The batteries can be swapped for standard AA batteries and can even run on a single AA which makes it very versatile. The UV light on the version I purchased works really well and the secondary LED emitter gets much brighter than I expected. Both the primary and secondary emitters can be easily and intuitively controlled using the wheel/button combo. The only thing this model seems to be missing is a strobe light feature, otherwise it would be perfect.

I have been a fan of Wuben lights, especially the X series, for some time. I find the unique industrial design of these little lights just sets them apart. I have the smaller X0 and the original X2. So when I saw the X2 Pro announced and found it on sale I had to pick one up.UPDATE: I added a picture comparing the size of the X0, X2 and X2Pro. The X2Pro is just slightly longer than the original X2.The X2 Pro has a few really interesting features that set it apart from my other X series lights and other competitors. I'll describe each one and then give my thoughts.-Adjustable focus/beam pattern: The main beam is made up of four emitters with three different beam shapes. With this combination you can adjust from a flood to a spot beam with the scroll wheel. As you turn the wheel the light changes the mix and intensity of the different emitters to give you a fairly continuous adjustment. This way of providing an adjustable beam solves the ingress issues with moving lenses like other "zoomies". Some may find this gimmicky, but for an EDC light I feel it gives you flexibility. You will find that flexibility will be a common theme in my review.-User replaceable batteries: The light comes with two 14500 920maH Li-Ion cells that are easily removed and replaced in the field without any tools. The battery compartment has a physical lock and then a simple press latch that opened the door. This alone is an improvement over my other X series lights as those are not user replaceable. Not only can you replace them with other 14500 cells, you can also use alkaline or Ni-MH AA batteries. If I only can find one AA alkaline and my Li-Ions are dead - no problem it can function on just one cell. As an EDC or an emergency light this flexibility is huge. One word of caution is that no where in the user manual does it talk about this, but I am assuming you cannot mix and match battery types. I would like some clarity from Wuben on this before I try mixing of battery types. I am also assuming that the light will only attempt to charge Li-Ion batteries with the internal charger.UPDATE: I reached out to WUBEN regarding using mixed battery types and received some information. The light incorporates a circuit protection feature that if you mix Li-Ion and AA batteries the light will not turn on. It also detects when AA batteries are used and will not attempt to charge them. So if you do use AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, you will need to recharge them outside of the light. Thank you WUBEN for the quick response to my questions.-Side emitters: The version I purchased has the white/UV combination. There is also an option for white/RGB, which in hindsight might be more useful for my purposes. This side light can swivel up and down 20 degrees. I was not sure how useful that swivel would be, but then I stood the light up on its tail and you can aim that beam down to light the surface. This works well to put the light exactly where you need it. The white light can be continuously adjusted in brightness up to 400Lm. The RGB version allows you to choose flashing combinations of Red/Blue, Red/Yellow and Red/Green as well as solid/flashing colors across 7 colors. This would be very useful in an emergency situation or to use as a warning indicator. The UV version I purchased will be useful for anything requiring close up inspection of fluorescent items such as currency, minerals, checking hotel beds, etc. It is not a super bright UV light, which unless you have eye protection is actually a benefit. Just another feature that really adds to the flexibility of this little EDC light.-Mechanical lockout: As I have tried several different lights for everyday carry, having a solid mechanical lockout is fantastic. I have a few different lights that use a combination of button presses to lock/unlock. These are just not as reliable as a simple mechanical switch. I have had several different lights turn on in my pocket that were locked out, but somehow I managed to unlock them. These little lights are very powerful and the warning that they can get hot is no joke. I have yet to actually burn a hole in my pants, but it did get very uncomfortable.-Scroll/Adjustment wheel: This wheel makes it very easy to adjust either the zoom level or the brightness level depending on the mode you are in. In standard main beam mode this wheel adjusts the beam shape, brightness is stepped from L-M-H by holding the button. Put the main beam in "Turbo" mode with a double press and the wheel now adjusts the brightness up to the full 1500Lm. Using the side lights the wheel is again used to adjust the brightness.-Tail switch accessory: The magnetic tail has contacts for an optional tail switch if you prefer.Like the other X series lights, the body is made from aluminum with a durable coating and a magnetic tail that is strong enough to hold the light on a vertical surface. These little lights are made to stand up to some abuse and I have not had any issues with my X0 or X2. I expect the same from this X2-Pro.A few technical details. I ran the batteries down a bit to check charging rate and found that with the included USB-A to USB-C or a USB-C to USB-C cable I measured roughly 4.5W. I tried a few different high power PD capable chargers and the charging voltage or wattage did not change from 5V/4.5 W. The light does not support turning on while being charged, including the side lights. It also does not support reverse charging, ie using the light as a powerbank. This is not surprising due to the size of the light and capacity of the batteries. So to summarize, this little light offers a lot of features that make it extremely flexible, perfect for an EDC. Is it the brightest or offer the most throw or flood for that matter? Well, no there are better dedicated lights for either of those scenarios. What it does do is give you all of these features in one small package, basically it falls into the "Jack of all trades, master of none" or Swiss-army type of light. I do wish I had picked up the RGB version, but the UV version would be very useful for someone who needs that functionality.

After several days of use with the Wuben X2 Pro, I would like to share some comments. In general, it is a high-quality flashlight with a lot of functions, making it suitable for everyday use.The most attractive feature is the adjustable focus. With a combination of a few different LEDs, I can switch between a spotlight and a floodlight by turning the side wheel. Quick and easy! The side light is also useful. The version I ordered has UV and neutral white light. I use the UV light daily to spot cat urine around my house. The CRI of the white light is not mentioned in the specs, but I do find the neutral white light more pleasing to the eyes.In addition to that, a few other features I enjoy include the replaceable AA-size cell, which is multi-voltage compatible, the magnetic tail, and the tactile switch. I do want to mention that, due to the variety of functions, the user interface (UI) is a bit complicated, including slide, turn, click, hold, and double-click actions. It takes some time to learn and remember everything.

To preface this review, I am an avid flashlight collector with around ~20 flashlights of all makes and models ranging from enthusiast lights like the D4K to more niche products like the Armytek Wizard C2.The Wuben X2 Pro is a very versatile and practical light that packs many features such as a UV light, rotatable side light, and a flood/throw toggle.Pros:Battery accessibility: Something I look for on all my lights is to have user-replaceable batteries. The X2 Pro provides easy access to the two included 14500 button top protected lithium-ion batteries rated for 920 mAh each. I also tried using amazon basics AA NiMH batteries which work but do give a lower turbo mode and runtime due to their discharge rate.User interface: The user interface is intuitive with specific toggles for front emitters, side emitters, and a lock mode. I really like having dedicated lock modes on lights to ensure that they don’t accidentally go off in a pocket or bag. The front emitter brightness is controlled by holding the button to toggle between low, medium, and high; and a double click for turbo mode, which activates all of the front LEDs. The rotary knob controls the flood vs throw by scrolling forward resulting in maximum throw and scrolling backward resulting in maximum flood. The side emitters controls are a little bit different. The brightness is controlled by the rotary knob and holding the button will switch the side emitters to the use of the UV option.USB-C rechargeable: Many hobbyist lights require the user to use their dedicated battery charger, but I like that the X2 Pro has integrated USB-C charging, which makes it easy for anyone to use and recharge.Features: I really like the inclusion of the magnetic tail as it helped me with running some wires in my car for a dash cam installation. With the versatility of the side emitter and front emitters, it was easy to position the light where I needed it on the metal body of my car. I know a lot of people prefer no magnetic tail-cap due to their work with sensitive electronics or metals, but I think it’s a useful feature for non-specialized work.Constructive Feedback:Rotary Knob User Interface Consistency: I wished that the rotary knob behavior was consistent between the front and side emitters. Something I would do is dedicate the knob for brightness control in both modes and use the hold function of the button to toggle between throw and flood. I mainly toggle to full throw or full flood rather than a setting in between, so having a dedicated toggle for this would have been nice.Slightly deeper pocket carry: The pocket clip is very robust and easy to clip and unclip from a pocket, but I wished that it was shifted a little more toward the front emitters, so it carries a bit deeper in the pocket. I prefer a fully hidden carry for my EDC gear and with it being a lens facing upward carry, it would also help protect the lens from being scratched while in a pocket. Conclusion:Overall, the X2 Pro proves to be a very handy EDC light for everyone. It has a durable aluminum body, an easy-to-handle form factor and shape, and intuitive controls. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in a light with a UV function and side emitters.
