Works great. Bit noisy for a desktop environment but then again this isn't a desktop HDD either.

The WD RE series SATA III drives are outstanding enterprise drives. Designed for long life in server use with a 24X7 duty cycle they are ideal for that environment. Their 5 year warranty speaks to their reliability.With Time Limited Error Recovery (TLER) the RE series drives are well suited RAID based applications which are not suitable for desktop drives which can give false failures with their extended error recovery timings.The RE drives are economically priced with a relatively low cost per gigabyte and a wide range of capacities from 250GB up to 4TB.I recently installed a pair of RE drives in a client server in a RAID1 configuration. As I've come to expect they worked perfectly and with some initial testing are slightly faster than the RE4 drives that were already in this server.I been running dozens of servers for myself and my clients for decades and using the Western Digital RE series of enterprise drives since the RE3 line came out. I've continued throughout the RE4 drives and now the RE (no number) which are the latest and appear to be even better than than the predecessors.These RE series drives have been very reliable with no failures in years. When I want reliable and economical server storage the RE drives are the center of my comfort zone. To improve performance even more I have started using smallish SSD drives for some server applications; using a SSD RAID1 for the OS and RE drives in RAID1 for the bulk data storage. This can really boost server performance while balancing costs.If you put these into a desktop PC don't expect them to be super quiet! They are not very quiet drives which is fine in most server applications.Overall Western Digital has demonstrated continued improvement in their enterprise RE drives. When I want drives I can depend on for solid performance in a 24X7 environment RE is my go to drive.Hope this helps someone!

Prodotto esclusivamente dedicato ad ambienti enterprise per cui è stato concepito, costa un po' di più rispetto ad altri prodotti di medesima capacità ma per chi ha la necessità bfi avere l'affidabilità massima rimane la scelta migliore,a patto chiaramente di avere la ridondanza o cmq sia di metterlo in configurazione raid1 perché per quanto sia affidabile rimane cmq un rischio avere tutti i dati su un unico dispositivo.Messo in coppia in un nas accesi 24/7 per ora nessun problema.Venditore serie e spedizione celere,unico neo riguarda la fattura o ricevuta fiscale che non viene fornita se non esplicitamente richiesta.

Die Festplatte ist gut verpackt bei mir angekommen und wurde sofort eingebaut.Sie funktioniert erstmal problemlos und ist vergleichsweise schnell für eine mechanische Festplatte.Wer eine leise Festplatte sucht , das ist definitiv keine. Das sollte aber bei einem Serverlaufwerk eigentlich jedem klar sein.Im Leerlauf ist sie nicht zu hören (zumal die Lüfter von meinem Gamer-PC sowieso lauter sind) und man hört ein leises Klicken beim Zugriff auf die Festplatte.Rein Subjektiv ohne gemessen zu haben laden die Programme die nicht auf meiner SSD sind einen Tick schneller, die Festplatte hat also genau das bewirkt was ich wollte.Von der Wärmeentwicklung her ist sie weniger schlimm als erwartet, meine kommt wenn das System unter Last ist nicht über 35 °C. Ich habe allerdings auch hinter der PC-Front unten einen Lüfter der Luft einzieht und hinten über dem Netzteil einen der die warme Luft wieder ausbläst.Wer eine zuverlässige und schnelle Festplatte sucht und nicht geräuschempfindlich ist, kann hier bedenkenlos zugreifen,zumal die erweiterte 5 Jahre Garantie den Preis mehr als rechtfertigen.
