I'm still on my first one. It's much better than the tattered old sponge I had after using my soldering iron sporadically for a couple of years. I recommend them.

They will do the job, but not for very long, if you are buying them, just make sure you buy a quite a few, you will go through them quicker than a good quality one, I've kept the rest of mine for emergencies.

For most this will be a lifetime supply at a very low price... it's a no brainer!Only slightly smaller than the original, it's not at all an issue.The quality is excellent, these wipe my soldering tips every bit as effectively as the one originally supplied by Hakko.No burning, melting or odors.Always pre-clean new sponges regardless of the source (like, duh) to remove any manufacturing residue that could foul a tip. First wash and rinse your hands, then use a mild detergent on the sponge... and then rinse VERY thoroughly. I suspect some of the lower reviewers neglected this basic "soldering 101" practice.
