The unit is strong with moderate and adjustable retraction tension. The extension length was very short for my application (retraction of EV charging cable). I ended up cutting off the end hook and tying on an extension cord. I made this work but it is not ideal.I would prefer a unit with greater extension length.

Easy fully adjustable lifting tension without tools. Coated cable. It worked perfectly for my application. Appears to be well made and I expect a long life.

Ended up needing two of these connected together because of my garage ceiling height, but they work perfectly to raise my EV charge cable up and out of the way when not in use. The adjustable tension is nice so that the cable can be lifted out of the way without too much strain on the connector port when it's plugged in.

First of all there were no instructions. The bar code on the package did not function to bring up anything related to the product. There were no instructions inside. I needed this to operate at the low end of its tension range to lift an EV cable about 4 feet. The tension adjustment was achieved by opening the rachet on the back side and allowing the cable to pull out then closing the rachey. Unfortunately that also reduces the length of tensioned pull to only about 12 inches, the rest then being slack, making this device completely unfit for my application.
