This was exactly what I was looking for; it's a great prop for a pirate ship halloween scene. I have no idea if it'll guide you across the ocean in a sailboat though.

El Sextante náutico y Astrolabio vendido por la empresa Thor Instruments Co., es bueno y puede mejorarse al corregir el tornillo de sujeción que señala los grados (está torcido).

This is a really nice replica of an astrolabe, it has a nice heft to it, all the parts move and it would probably actually work if I knew how (or needed to) use it sailing. I had previously purchased a smaller version from another vendor but I recommend this one for a nice decoration in a nautical or marine theme.

I really like this device I spent a couple hours polishing the brass to bring it up to a nice finish. I didn't polish everything because I wanted to leave some of the original patina. Everything works and I can't wait till I'm able to learn more about how to use it. I saw a review or somebody complained about the thing being all broken and didn't work I don't know about that mine had some stiff spots a tiny drop of oil in a lot of polishing and it's ready to go I'm very happy with my purchase.
