Setup: This has the driver on an internal flash memory that shows up like a USB flash drive when first inserted. I tried to reformat it as a test, and the flash is "read only", so thankfully you can't overwrite it by mistake. The driver installs quickly, and it does force the computer to no longer see the flash drive part of this once installed, so it isn't under your list of attached drives being annoying. It does take an extra second when first plugged in after being installed where the drive appears for a split second, then vanishes, and you hear the "ping-ping" plug/unplug notification, but then it just acts like a wireless adapter without issues. It installed and worked fine on my old Windows 7 netbook.Design: The main problem I had with this was the weight, the long antenna is heavy so it sags in a less than tight USB port and disconnected itself when jiggling frequently. If it is kept very still it works, did fine in the back of a desktop PC, but on a mobile device like a netbook it can be annoying when it wiggles loose in the socket and drops out from time to time. Some USB devices are sized to fit tightly, but this sits a little loose, and any motion combined with the weight of the antenna can make it shift.Speeds: Good, but be aware that your USB connection can be a bottleneck. On a USB 2.0 port on my old netbook this only offered 433Mb/s on the 5Ghz band, and not the adapter's claimed maximum 600Mb/s or my router's full possible 867Mb/s. It makes sense given that USB 2.0 has a theoretical maximum of 480Mb/s data connection, but it's something to consider.Reception: Very strong, the large antenna does indeed pick up much more than a smaller device. Besides the usual networks that appeared as available I saw several names that even my phone and desktop can't reach around me I'd never seen before. Throughout the house and out in the yard this stayed connected- as long as the slightly loose adapter itself never jiggled free.Overall this has incredible range, and I appreciate that once installed the internal flash doesn't show up anymore. It got warm but not hot after a few hours, and was quite stable- assuming it stayed very still. The weight and loose connection were a tad frustrating, but not a deal breaker. This only sees it's ideal speeds under a USB 3.0 connection, and sadly not most older USB 2.0 devices you may get this to be able to access a 5Ghz network on, but it comes right up to the limit of what USB 2.0 CAN offer, and that's still pretty good.

I upgraded my pc from powerline adapter to this wifi-6 adapter, and it boosted my download speed from 41.3Mbps to 52.2Mbps!!!!!My house still has wiring done in the 90s, this is such an upgrade for me.

Possibly a workable wifi dongle, however, for me, the implementation on Linux was overly difficult.
