Unfortunately, you can NOT simultaneously charge and use the ethernet at the sametime.When I stream video and charge at the sametime, I would get a low rate charging notification my device.Also, the moment I unplug the power (USB-C PD in), my ethernet connection would be **disconnected**.

Lost my computer recently to hardware failure and now have to hardline into my laptop. My old USB hub was the cause of problems, so in comes this USB C to Ethernet Adapter. I tested this against my wifi and a friend's Anker adapter.My base wifi is pitiful:38mbps download / 2mbps uploadThe anker adapter was able to get consistently on my network:234mbps download / 311mbps uploadThis adapter was able to get variable downloads within 50~mbps as the anker, and the roughly the same downloads. My final and fastest test was:226mbps download / 302mbps uploadRecommended at present versus the roughly $22 anker version, as you get the option to charge at the same time as well. I am not currently using it for this function. But I will update if any issues occur.

Needed this for traveling as i have a single USB-C port on my computer that is for charging. Thanks to this adapter I can plug in for ethernet and charge my laptop at the same time -- a real lifesaver.This thing just works and works fantastically well. Overall, it works as described and is highly recommended.

Now that I've been assigned a work laptop, I needed something to plug it into the Wifi in my house, but forgot my password so I needed an adapter and stumbled on this. It's a thin lightweight piece and it works RIGHT out of the package with a tight click after the ethernet cord was inserted. It flashes colors based on the data and connection so you know it's actually working, but it's not obnoxious enough to wake you up in the middle of the night either. It fits well into the C charger and both it and the ethernet cable fit snugly enough where a little jostling won't knock it out of the laptop or the modem. It's a good quality piece that fits well, travels and stores easily, and is a simple yet effective fix to my problem.
