I have always been a big fan of having fondue nights when I was kid at a friend's house and decided it was time to invest in our own fondue set for our home. I came across this Swissmar 10 piece fondue set and decided to order it. First, I'm not going to lie I was a little intimidated actually setting this up on my own as when I was kid it was already set up for us. But the instructions are very clear and walk you through step by step which was really nice and convenient. The fondue pot is VERY durable and sturdy which was another thing I was a little nervous about because teenage boys can get a little rowdy at times. Our 1st go round we decided to dessert night with different fruits and chocolate and it was a big success and hit. The cleanup was super simple as well which was definitely a big plus! I would highly recommend this set for a small family or small gathering as it is perfectly sized for that type of event/amount of people. Not to mention I would also consider purchasing this as a gift for another family, or even to donate to a school auction. This fondue set would definitely help make great and fun family dinner/dessert memories!

Admittedly, at times I’m nostalgic for times in which I was never a part. One of those is whenEVER I see people crack out fondue – usually in décor or random vintage print ads. It always looks warm, cozy, filling and just fun for the friends!! Blame it on the 1960s/70s influence, but I -HAD- to try this!!So everything arrived quickly and all the pieces in the set were accounted for. Off the bat? Quality. Much like my beloved Dutch ovens, I love the use of enamel lined cast iron (less staining, easier cleaning), the weight of the main piece (presents as stable/study), the base adds to this and gives an air being stable/steady with no concerns of tipping and the canned heat is elevated quite enough that I’m not concerned in regards to the possibility of carry over singe – howEVER, I do use with a wood chopping board underneath.What came next was to take it for a test!! I opted for cheese (of course) and got everything in place: bread cubes, mushrooms, broccoli and mini sausage. I prewarmed the pot in my oven using a warming cycle set for 200* and utilized brand specific fire gel to be sure they would fit and work. I can check aftermarket options later.Verdict? The test run was clunky as a first-time concept, but it'll be easier the next time. I LOOOOVED it and would totally do again!!

We christened this pot with New Years cheese fondue. The pot heated consistently and kept cheese warm without burning. Very easy to clean up. Looking forward to an oil fondue run next time.
