I bought these to replace the bulbs in my can lights. Installation was straight forward and simple. They are plenty bright. What I really like though is the "night light" or Halo feature. I bought these for the 2nd Floor of my shop and will likely rarely use the feature, but I will be buying some for in the house in the future.We'll see how long they last. If they do not last long or I run into other issues, I'll post an update.

The nightlight feature gets 5 stars. Incandescent bulbs can be dimmed down to a soft orange glow but normal LEDs don't do that. They keep the same color temperature and typically don't get as dim as an incandescent can. The nightlight solves that by offering a low light mode with a warm color temperature. Great for watching TV at night or setting a romantic mood.The normal light mode is very bright, so much so that it can produce a distracting glare. A bulb will typically sit deeper up in the can which reduces glare because there are less angles from which you get direct line of sight with the bulb. These have a shallower baffle making them more flush with the ceiling. That gives them a great look when they're off but when they're on and they're as bright as these you can get a fair amount of glare. I recommend installing a dimmer to keep this manageable. You can leave them around 50-75% most of the time and have the option to turn them up when you want maximum brightness.It might be less of an issue if you have higher than standard 8' ceilings. I have another brand of retrofit lights in another room that are 650 lumens and don't have this glare problem.

This replacement kit was easy to install, looks great, and has an amazing night light feature. The lights are very bright. Screwing off the existing light bulb, removing the cone insert, and installing the new light took less than a minute per replacement. I made the mistake of not dialing in all the light settings at the start and had to pop a couple off to adjust. I only used a ladder for this task.I installed these lights this evening, the warmest setting is very bright and woke me up. The coolest setting will make any space look like a well lit lab. Took me about 30 minutes to replace 13 of my lights. Moving the ladder around, setting up each light and forgetting to set a couple added to the overall time.The brightness is definitely what my home needed - I previously had 750 lumen bulbs in the can lights and it feels like double the brightness than I used to have.I’m happy with the purchase. I’m going to install dimmer switches for these lights and they will be exactly what I want. 10/10.
