I recommend these lights and this company as a whole. These lights are not all the same and don't just look at the price. I have done quite a lot of research at this point. I am comparing these against other lights I have installed from Sunco and Commercial Electric. I like these Amico lights because they are IC-rated and also certified by ETL. Having certifications are important because these will be installed in your house and fire risk is always a concern. Amico electrical boxes are metal. Plastic boxes like those included with Sunco make me nervous. If there's a fire caused by arcing, I'd like it to stay contained in the box. Pairing process was very easy. I chose to pair in Smart Life instead of their recommended app and there were no issues. I also grouped all 4 lights together so I could control all 4 together (like changing light color, brightness, etc.) There are other areas that are well thought out. I love how these lights integrate with light switches. This was important for me because these lights will be in rental property and not everyone is technical and cares about app integration, etc. Imagine someone turns OFF the light via the app but now the light switch is ON (and the light is off). Toggling the switch off then back on turns the light on again. I also LOVE that Amico chose to integrate with existing apps instead of making me people use theirs. Lastly, manufacturing wise these are well built. For example, the connector that screws the light to the box works great. I can't say the same for the Sunco lights I ordered.I have one complaint. I am not going to take a star off because it looks like everyone does this and its just the way it goes I guess. I hate that these lights can only be controlled only via an app. I would like to have seen a physical switch on the box as well to control the 5 different while lights. Why do I care? Amico could go out of business some day and their drivers won't be maintained. This could result in a scenario where you can't control your lights at some point. Or, what happens when you sell the house or the person who knew how to control the lights dies. It would be nice to have a physical fallback.

Just received these 4" Smart Lights and was excited to install them. The box contained everything you need to install them from the lights, electrical boxes (J-Box), round ring seal, and instructions (which are very thorough). The instructions were very easy to follow. I already had my holes cut out for a 4" lights in my bathroom. You basically install the electrical box (J-Box) to your current power, connect the 4" smart light to the plug on the electrical box (J-Box) and using the 2 side spring side clips, you gently push them into the hole that you cut out. I was impressed with the quality of the lights and the electrical box plug in connection. They seem to be built well. After installing them, I downloaded the smartlife app and connected them to it. They connected without any issues. Once they are connected, you have many options from adjusting the color temperature to the color of your choice using the app. You can create a group control, multiple lighting settings or custom scene modes. One of the cool features is the ability to use music mode which allows the lights to dance to the music. You can also customize a schedule if you like. You are not suppose to use a dimmer switch with these as it will cause them to flicker. Dimming is done in the smartlife app. I then linked the smartlife app to my Alexa app and viola, Alexa can now control the lights, color, etc.Overall, these are excellent lights and a great value for the money. Being able to voice control these with Alexa or Google, change the colors and the music feature alone is worth the money. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these if you are looking for something beyond a boring white light.

This is my fourth project with recessed LED lights and I love the improvements that they have made over the years. In 2013, I installed some that were essentially mini can lights in our covered deck and, with those, I had to pull both ends of the wire out of the hole enough to connect them in the junction box from below. In 2020, I installed some in our kitchen that had the junction box attached to the top of the light. With attic access above, I could lay out all the electrical wire beforehand, although I had to use more wire to assure that I could pull both ends through each hole to connect them at the junction. That was then...In 2024, I decided I wanted similar lights in the dining room. I went with a brand here on Amazon called ECOELER (rated 1100 lumens) and found that they had really improved the design with the junction box being separate connected by a wire plugged between it and the light. I was able to create the whole string of junction boxes and electrical wire beforehand, then go into the attic, connect it to the existing power and lay it out near where the holes would be cut. To make this easier, I sent a nail up through the center of most of the holes that were going to be cut from below so I could get the boxes close and, for the lights in the two corners of the rectangle, I sent up a longer piece of wire to have a general idea where I needed to be amidst the thick blanket of attic insulation. This worked beautifully and I was able to quickly lay out the wire. I cut the first hole from above using a Rotozip and having someone hold a bucket under the hole below. This did not end up being faster or causing less mess, plus the work all had to be done in the uncomfortable attic, so I settled on cutting the holes from below using a wallboard saw. I would then reach through, find the white wire, connect it to the light and pop the light in place super-fast.With these Amico lights, the process is similar. However, I put them in the front eaves of our house and used a 4" hole saw to cut through the aluminum eaves. One improvement over the lights I installed last year are the "mixed-use" fast connectors that were included. They actually work with the smaller soldered wires within the junction box AND with 14AWG wire used in typical home electrical. I have seen this offered in some other LED lights I recently installed, but they didn't actually hold the smaller wire tight like these do. Since they are accent lights, 800 lumens will be bright enough for my needs.Since it has decent ratings in the Play Store, I will be using the Smart Life app or possibly look into whether one of my existing apps will work. I will typically be using 1-2 colors themed to certain holidays and feel as though these will work well for that since they offer all imaginable color options. They are a good value for what we wanted, which was subtle holiday/event lighting.

Although my previous experiences with Amico lights have been somewhat disappointing, I must say that these particular RGBCW lights are truly exceptional and rank among the finest on the market. The brightness on the RGB side is outstanding, providing vibrant and rich colors that fill the space beautifully. I was particularly impressed by the excellent color accuracy, which ensures that every hue is true to life. Setting them up with Alexa was a breeze, making smart home integration seamless and effortless. The build quality is impressive, and they meet all necessary certifications, including being ETL Listed, which adds to my confidence in their safety and reliability. Given the premium quality and features, they offer remarkable value for the price.

These are good quality 4 and 6 inch RGB lights that are super easy to install and pair with the app. The white color is also very bright and so you do not have to have seperate lights for when you just want to light the room. Google integration is great.
