Great for turning a long breaker bar into a ratchet. Sometimes you need the function of a ratchet with the length of a breaker bar. This add that function and works well. For this one just rotate the black part and that changes the ratcheting direction.

I had a special use for this. It came apart. It is well designed, and it seems the spiral lock holding it together was not up to my use. I expanded the lock ring a little and now it is perfect. All this gave me a chance to see the internal parts that are well made and look to be properly heat-treated parts. I would buy it again.

I use it in aviation to open fuel panels with speed handle for those screws that are overtorqued.

I use this with an 8-10 amp drill to start go-cart engines and engines I'm working on. The reason is that when an engine starts, the speed may overshoot the drill. When that happens the socket extension adapter buildup goes every which-a-way. With this, you just pull away from the engine when it starts. It's worth every bit of $30. It's more than that here, but this is a hard tool to find and I needed one PDQ. On the plus side, this seems to be made better than my old one so I'm pretty happy with it.
