First bought 2 years ago. Just bought again. Was my first baitcaster. Definitely recommended as a starter baitcaster, or as an affordable tool in your fishing toolset. For the price, I have to give it 5 stars.The rod is great and probably worth the price on its own. It is durable - after 2 years with it, all the line guides are still intact. I have not been gentle with it so it looks beat up and some of the cork veneer has worn off the handle. I really enjoy the action of the rod. I have caught some big fish on it and I love seeing it bend. It casts pretty decently up to about maybe three ounces (catfish rig) but any more than that it starts feeling limp on the cast. It will pull in a 20 pound catfish, but still also lots of fun with a 1 pound bass or carp. Actually, 4-8 pound carp are a ton of fun on this rod.The reel is OK. It is perfectly functional. Casts great. Retrieves great. Comfortable in the hand. The spool tension knob feels kinda cheap but it is fine. The only potential letdown is the drag, and it is really only an issue when you get a big fish on. It feels to me like it maxes out at around 5 or 6 pounds of drag. That is actually plenty of drag for any fish under 10 pounds, but any bigger than that and it starts losing the fight. The great thing about a baitcaster is that you can generate a lot of additional drag by thumbing the spool.Buy it for the rod, see what you think of the reel and put a nicer reel on if you want. Or keep the reel and fish the heck out of it.

La caña no viene bien empacada, por lo que llegó dañada, lo cual parece ser un problema común según las reseñas

Mandaron la caña rota, no que se rompiera en el traslado, venia empacada ya rota. Por un momento pense que talves habia sido publicada con una descripcion donde se especificaba que estaba rota, pero no.

Broke 3rd time using it. Snapped off top 1/4 of rod during an easy retrieve of my bait, and bait was spinner and worm, not heavy, in lake not against a current.Positives: Rod felt great for a budget caster combo, and I was really enjoying it my first few days using. Nice length, single piece, comfortable grip for me, felt like nice feedback, very sensitive, nice action. Reel casted well!Negatives: Honestly, build quality of reel seemed lacking, but it performed great and worked A+ so not a negative despite my initial impression. Will use on next rod to see how much life I can get out of it.Rod durability, not happy at all. Lame way to mess up a long weekend.

Bought it on a wim. Was given a gift card for Christmas and decided to pick up another baitcaster. Loaded it up with braid and went out to do a few test casts.. AMAZED!! with just a few tweeks I was getting food distance with little to no backlash. Quality is far better than rods and reels I have spend significantly more on.Just got it so I have no long term tests to report but for the price its hard to beat!! Happy Fishing... and may all your snags turn out to be big fish!! LOL

Primero que nada : si un proveedor se percataba de que el artículo no cabe dentro del embalaje , buscar uno más grande : siempre la prioridad es que el producto llegue en perfectas condiciones ,,, el día de hoy recibí la caña con la parte de la punta quebrada : desconocos que fue lo qué pasó si el proveedor la envío así o la paquetería ( en este caso DHL , en la maniobra la quebró ) ...., pero era evidente que la caña venía expuesta , no venía totalmente dentro de la caja que la enviaron, como observación : he solicitado la devolución y el envío de una nueva pieza : espero que esta ves no llegue de la misma manera .... gracias al servicio al cliente de Amazon por ayudarme con mi solicitud , muy amables ..... la caña es muy buena ( en relación al artículo en calidad no puedo decir nada, muy buena caña ) .... solo mala experiencia al recibir mi pedido dañado

excelente calidad con una ligera aboyadura y un leve dobles en una anilla pero nada que impida su plena funcion. y ya tuvo su primera captura

Product came defective. Spool tension knob did not hold the spool tight. Came in very poor packaging also damaging the eyelets of the rod. DO NOT BUY.
