One of the splitters teeth spun freely and the one I used dented to the shape of the nut and took a long while & almost excessive force to split a 3/8 Galvanized nut. The tool did not operate freely after using it to split 1 nut.

These are an excellent set of nut splitters. However, BE SURE TO DISASSEMBLE AND LUBRICATE THEM BEFORE USING! They are shipped DRY. If you don't, there is a good chance the threads, and / or the key way that the hardened cutting edge rides in will seize or gall. I used a combination of synthetic grease and engine assembly lubricant. And they work nice and smooth.

I bought this nut breaker to get 70 years old nuts off the bolts on my 1954 IHC pickup bed im restoring. Unfortunately it was too heavy to fit over the nuts that were too close to the frame, so I guess I'll just have to wait for the next job to rate it.
