This drill bit held up much better than expected and it got the job done quickly.I was drilling through dirt and rock to get a three foot head start in driving an eight foot grounding rod. A few times when I would hit some rocks the drill bit would flex a lot more than what I was expecting, but it held up well and did not break. When it would start to flex, I would let up on the pressure until it was able to get a hole started on the rocks, then it was able to take more pressure.When finished, the drill bit did not show any signs of wear, such as bending or fatigue. And the carbide tip was also intact and showed no wear.I'm planning on using this for another hole through rock and dirt, so I have great expectations that it will get that job done too.

For a budget tool this worked amazing. Fit right on a harbor. Freight drill took me a while to drill through 30 inches of concrete, but I did it in about an hour.

Purchased to drill holes in retaining wall, performed really well through cinder blocks filled with concrete.

I used this to drive a hole under a sidewalk so I could get an electrical line through the dirt. This bit chewed right through. I used it with an adapter and an SDS max Hilti.
