The listing is not very clear. Be aware, it does say compatible with the Dewalt Impact (driver) drills. It is NOT. You need to be sure you select the correct type of SDS. Our Dewalt is an SDS Plus. This is a SDS Max, yes it does say that in the listing. However, they need to include model numbers of the compatible Impact drills.Though I will say the unit is very heavy and appears to be sturdy. Thus the two stars. Please fix the catalog page.

I had a 8’ ground rod to install. I started it with a 2 pound hammer. After 20 minutes of manual labor I had drove it down about 8”. I had purchased the ground rod driver attachment. I got my driver out and placed the ground rod adapter on it, climbed up my 8’ ladder placed the driver on the ground rod and pulled the trigger. Within 2 minutes it had drove rod all the way down ( except for the 4” above ground ). Now I live in Texas near Houston TX. The ground here is known as “ Gumbo “ it’s a black dense clay. IT IS HARD DIRT WHEN DRY….

This thing sure beat standing on a step ladder with a 20 pound sledge hammer pounding in a 5/8 inch rod. I have heavy clay soil and it drove the rods in with no effort on my part , other than holding in the trigger. Worth the money even if I never use it again.
