I fish the Florida intracoastal and this is the best top water lure in my arsenal. Trout, redfish and snook love it!

This lure is easy to work and get a proper walk the dog action. It casts far with a 7’ to 9’ rod rated for it’s weigth. Probably easier to work with the 7’-8’ rod. Mostly used it in a calm surf for striped bass. Hooks are very sharp and ok for small to medium fish. Rapala quality written all over it. Pretty resistant. 4 stars because there is always room to improve.

I'ts a five-star lure, for me, but only gettin four for one reason: the hooks are not that great. Now, they're not _terrible_. Just, well, I LOST THREE BIG TROUT - IN A ROW! Can you tell I'm not happy. Actually one was a B.I.G. Redfish that, a week later, is probably still running; should be passing the east end of Apalachicola bay right about now...Ok, well, I am happy they (speckled seatrout, and sometimes Redfish) love this thing. It was basically brand-new, from the box, though it had been in there for a few weeks. Maybe rattlin around in there had something to do with it?.After the last one got off I looked closer at the hooks. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "Dummy, should'a done that beforehand". They just weren't sharp enough for me - they don't "give me pause" when I reach into the tackle box. So I replaced them with ones that, well, kinda scare me. That should do it.So, really good lure (profile, action, etc). Hooks could be better.EDIT: This is kind of important: if you are new to "walk-the-dog" lures then this is the best model to start out on. It's "rookie-proof". Mostly. Not to say it will walk itself. Is just easier than any other I've used. In fact I can easily put more action (do 'funky stuff') with my other favorite top-water lure. But this one is more consistent.Just something in the design. So if your client (or you), is new at this, and you want them to have some top-water fun, then I recommend this one. Note: they still need to be able to cast the thing at least 40-50 feet consistently. More, much more, is of course better.
