¿Cómo tirar una ostra?

I had to put a pipe on the handle to have more leverage. Worked fine for me.

I was leary about these things (I've always just used a regular oyster knife) until I got to try my neighbors and had to buy one for myself. The leverage of the handle makes the initial opening of the shell quite easy (without fear of jabbing yourself). I keep the little oyster knife they provide in my hand to finish things up (I like cutting the meat away from the shell muscle and leaving it in the cupped side of the oyster).The clamp is really unnecessary. I don't use it. The thing stays put nicely on its own. Put a dish towel under it if you m ust.
