Easy to put on. Material goes around legs & velcro keeps the material from opening.

Held up great hiking the rugged Coulee of southern Alberta with no issues. Fit great with plenty of adjustment. Unsure why people say they are made for kids, my calves are no ninja turtle calves but they aren't pencil legs either. Highly recommend

Whatever waterproofing it had on it, it wore away quickly in the first hike. -But really I just wanted these to keep snow from sliding into my boots and they did that well. My pants sorta rode up my calf once in a while but not as much as one would expect. I'm told I have a decently large calf and they fit me just fine. I'm glad I got these, the belt looks like it'll last a while.

I like the looks and the convenience of being able to pack these but the sizing is way off. Not able to wrap it around my shoes and leg properly. I am 6' tall 185 pounds and it will not fit. Not worth the price to return them.

I have been backpacking and hiking in the mountains for over four decades, and I never like to head out without a pair of gaiters. I have thru-hiked long trails such as the Vermont Long Trail, the John Muir Trail, the Appalachian Trail, and all wearing a pair of boot gaiters. Gaiters are so helpful at keeping out stones, sticks, sand, leaves, and other debris. They are also great at fending off water from rushing in over the top of your boots when doing stream and river crossings. Lastly, they help keep stinging insects, biting ticks, and stinging nettles off your legs.I’ve used both high-end brand name Gaiters from Outdoor Research, as well as budget versions from Amazon, and of all the budget versions I have ordered, these are one of my favorites. I wouldn’t call these winter or mountaineering gaiters because they are very thin, but for all around use they work great. They are not made of as tough a material as say, Outdoor Research Crocs, but they do seem to breathe better though.Pros:- They are made from a durable waterproof 600D nylon and will stand up to abuse, and the interior of the gaiters has a tricot coating to protect the waterproof membrane (although it is not soft, it is not rough either).- They have an adjustable burly TPU strap for under the foot that is retained in place by a thick stainless metal buckle, and the whole system is very robust and durable. There is also a thick tab for tucking-in the tail of the strap.- The closure system is by means of a thick and durable 1.5-inch-wide strip of Velcro. No zippers to mess with or worry about failing.- To keep the gaiter from riding up the foot or sliding around, there is a metal instep hook fastener that clips to your boot’s laces.- They provide great coverage up to the bottom of the knee at 16-inches tall.- There is 3/4-inch webbing at the cuffs around the legs under the knee, which are much more comfortable than the bungie straps that are too common to budget gaiters. They are fairly easy to manipulate and the Duraflex buckle is quick and easy to open and close (after some practice).Cons (This is so minor at this price point that I won’t deduct any stars for this):- Once it wears out, the strap under the foot is not replaceable, which is always the first thing to wear out on my gaiters. Fortunately, this strap is so thick that I think it could outlast the gaiter itself.- I’m not a fan of the large branding all over the gaiters.Despite my nitpicks, this pair of gaiters is a fraction of the price of most comparable gaiters from the well-known name brands, and as a result at only twenty-two dollars they are a great value and would be a perfect pair for yourself or as a spare or to lend to a hiking partner.
