This mount works ok but it isn't good for driving and it doesn't feel very sturdy. It's kinda loose and uses the built in starlink mount instead of a bracking holding the entire unit which makes me nervous it could break the starlink mini when removing it.

Easy assembly. I'm probably more mechanically inclined than others, so it may be more difficult for some of you to follow the instructions.Normally, you would mount the base to the antenna before adding the magnet legs. I will be using this to hold a small solar panel to my car roof when camping or field radio operations.

Came with the actual magnets and the metal bracket arms but there isn't a single piece of hardware to actually attach everything together. Not sure if that was not included in my package or what but the item was fully sealed so apparently they are expecting you to buy your own hardware to actually put this together which is insane. I would not recommend anybody purchase.

It arrived quickly and I was excited to try it out. It comes with everything required but there is some minor assembly. The instructions make it appear as if the magnets are installed alternating big/small/big/small but when you turn the instructions over for the next step the magnets are visualized with the bigger magnets towards the outside and the smaller magnets towards the inside.I followed the instructions, moving the magnets to match the later steps but when I picked it up the mini fell off. I must have missed a step. Unfortunately the set screws that secure the mounting plate to the mini end up below the brackets that hold the magnets so I disassembled most of it to try again. This time I ensured the set screws were properly seated and I tightened them as far as I was comfortable turning them into the mini using a screwdriver. Fully assembled it a second time and as soon as I picked it up the mini fell off again! You can see where the 2.5M set screws are supposed to go into the factory slots on the bottom of the mini and it appeared like they were but with movement the mounting plate flexes and that is enough so the set screws are not enough to hold the mini in place. You can see where the the set screws slid out of the slot on the bottom of the mini and scraped the surface of the mini in the attached photo. The instructions are labeled Starlink Gen 3 but the instructions clearly reference the Starlink mini so I'm pretty sure I ordered and received the right one. There are extra parts left over so perhaps it works better on the gen 3 Starlink. On my next attempt I very carefully jammed the mounting plate as far into the mini as I could and spent time ensuring the set screws were actually set into the mini's bottom. This time it worked and the bracket held onto the mini. The hood of my car apparently isn't magnetic so I had to use the trunk and the roof has a large sunroof so it's not a good alternative. It's a little too big for my trunk. The magnets did feel like they would hold it fairly well.I don't like that you have to disassemble the majority of it using an allen key, wrench and a screwdriver just to get it off the mini. It's unfortunate the set screws are located under the brackets.

This was an easy assembly following the pictorial directions. The frame appears to be black powder coated and the screws stainless steel. There appears to be six small round magnets embedded within the round pads, with the larger pads having larger round magnets compared to the smaller pads. According to the picture instructions, you need to use the lock and flat washers on the small magnet side of the frame when installing. The problem with that is there is not enough threads on the magnet bolt to place two nuts along with a washer on the end. It is lacking about two threads for this to work. You can eliminate one of the washers and then this would work, but that is contrary to the directions, so I am docking one star. Otherwise, I would not hesitate with this purchase to secure your Starlink to any metal object.
