Update to review: The internals sound like they have broken after a week using once a day… I can hear the broken pieces rattling inside and the wire does not retract anymore. Not recommended.The wire is coated smooth and pull out length was pretty much what was advertised. Much longer than another brand of similar style, which I’m still using to keep a slack portion of my ev charger line hanging on the ceiling. The tension is not really smooth throughout the stroke so if you are using it as a tool balancer, it won’t keep the tool floating at any position. I use this new balancer as a retractable to keep the handle of my car charing cable up high so a little tension on the line was fine with me when its stretched out

3 minutes after opening. Pulled the cable out by hand and it would not retract. Shook and could hear the rattling of husted parts, this is an amazingly poor quality product and Amazon should pull it off the site along with anything this company makes.

The strech achieved was 0.9 meter and hit a hard stop and broke plastic and metal parts. Not 3 meters.Useless.
