It holds the heavy books plus more without a problem. I purchased for my high school grandkids.

I bought 2 of these.Pros: You can see the contents inside, which was the requirement the schools required. The material is kind of stretchy so it holds more than I originally thought.Cons: The side pockets on both of them busted out the within the first week of use. I had to stitch it myself in a rush the night before the second day of school (see photo, I'm not proud).On one of them, the main zipper comes undone on its own when the backpack is full. The stretch that the mesh has prevents the backpack from having any sort of a good structure.

My son loves this backpack. He packs everything in this bag every day for school and its still going strong. Great bag with comfortable padded straps!

I used this product to bring it tonwork and it works wonders by not being a flimsy mesh backpack like other..the mesh is actually thicker than most backpacks. Also i have had forks and the picks get stuck in there without damaging the backpack

I am using this pack to carry my oxygen concentrator when I am exercising. The pack seems well made and sturdy. I just wish it had a waist strap on it. I have to wear a fanny back in order to support the pack so my shoulders do not have to carry all the weight. I have a simply go mini that weighs 6 lbs with the extended battery. Please make a similar pack with a good waist strap on it for us carrying around these portable oxygen concentrators.
