I don't understand all the positive reviews--reviews that led me to purchase this tape dispenser. When I took it out of the packaging, some sand spilled out and it continues to leak granules on my desk top. I could deal with that, but the primary reason I purchased it was for its alleged weight. I need a dispenser that allows me to pull out and cut off a piece of tape with one hand. This dispenser is not that.According to my digital kitchen scale it weighs 786g/27.75oz/1.73lb. In spite of its heavier weight than a standard dispenser (my Scotch brand one is .98 lb), it slides when I attempt to pull from a standard roll of clear Scotch tape. It should weigh at LEAST 2 lbs--maybe it did originally, but a quarter+ pound of sand leaked out before it was even shipped? or was never filled as full as it should be? It could also use a "stickier" bottom pad. I've tried two sufaces: wooden desk top and matte finish quartz composite kitchen countertop. For it not to slide, I'd have to set it on my concrete driveway--that would probably provide enough grip but not be particularly convenient.Although it deserves 1 star, I'll give it 2 because the cutter is sharp and makes a clean cut. Woohoo. I might try attaching something stickier to the bottom, but at this point I'm not sure what that would be . . .

This is PERFECT for the modern, functional craft room. I have been looking everywhere for a heavy weighted tape dispenser for multiple tape sizes in WHITE. I finally have and it’s exactly what I needed and wanted. Love it! Highly recommend!
