I've owned two Bloggers and they have both failed on me. The one I most recently purchased failed after less than a dozen uses.I like the tone and sound this thing creates, but the units keep failing on me. I've treated them well, transported them in the box, and stored them in a normal room.

I tested it and worked really well. I use fuzz mode to specific "rotten" bass lines and the drive mode for warmer lines. I enjoy having only 3 knobs, to keep it simple. If you ask me, i would prefer only 2 knobs to simplify it even more.

Purchased the Bass Blogger primarily for it's drive mode to edge up my tone a bit for certain songs. I was already using and EHX Bass Big Muff and was looking to add the Blogger as a second dirt box for variety. I have to say that although I'm a fan of EHX gear this pedal was a bit of a let down. Physically the pedal is right up there with the other EHX line but the it's the tone of this unit that was disappointing. The unit can operate in two modes. Fuzz or Drive. We'll start with Fuzz first. In Fuzz mode, the pedal did the job. It's actually a pretty decent fuzz pedal. Typical of what you'd expect from EHX and the controls behave exactly like the Bass Big Muff. Unfortunately it's a little bit too much like it's big brother. I'll touch on this later. For now I'll discuss the drive mode. I'm going to be completely honest in saying that the drive mode sounds absolutely horrible. Even worse if you're using a high output active bass. I demo'd this pedal first with a passive Warwick Corvette Standard followed by an active Warwick FNA. All the controls on the passive bass were turned up and both pickups were used. On the active bass all tone controls were centered at 0 and volume fully up. That being said, the tone of the drive mode sounds like a muddy and over saturated fuzz mode. In drive mode only the tone and drive controls are active and I seriously wondered if the drive knob actually does anything in this mode. Starting at 0 there is no effect and as the knob was slowly turned up the drive came on quickly but through the rest of the sweep the change in drive was minimal. Seemed like it was all or nothing. The tone knob behaved as expected but no matter how each knob was set I could not get away from the muddy lackluster tone. Using the unit with the active bass just increased the muddiness and added a harsh synth-like overtone to both modes. In short I just could not get anything useful out of the drive mode.I went into the Bass Blogger with high hopes. Having owned a few EHX pedals in the past and some currently I think the make good quality effects units. They are rugged and sound fantastic. However this unit just seems to miss the mark. It's fuzz mode is fine if that's what you're looking for but it creeps too far into the Bass Big Muff's territory and the Bass Big Muff had no problem achieving the same fuzz sound as the Blogger. I found the drive mode to almost useless and misleading. You'd expect a warm distortion sound but what you got was an over saturated and muddy fuzz.
