It is what it says it is.IT DOES NOT STORE POWER, for those who are buying for that option. If your phone is tethered to the hat, it will charge. Walk inside, and it will stop passing power to your phone. I didn't like my electronics cutting on and off, honestly. If you know you're in nothing but sun all day, sure, cool item. :-)I didn't like the fit of the hat, it hurts my head, but fits. I'd advise getting a size larger than you would if you are closer to the next one up. I was within my size, but at the wider end of the scale. I ordered the hat, and it's pretty tight. I will have to fold a bandana and wrap my head like a sweatband, then put the hat on to keep it from scratching. It's got a little weight to it, but will still take off in wind with no strap.It did not charge any of my battery backups like someone showed, but was a cool experiment. Possibly his brand accepts it, idk. I'd find use in leaving a device plugged in under the hat, while it sat in a sunny spot outside. That's a useful thing. I just don't recommend this purchase. Some call it a novelty item which I think is fair.Great service form the seller.

The solar hat works great to charge your devices on the go. You can charge while wearing or just place it in the sun with your device connected. It does not have a battery pack.

First, the bad. Solar panels are not stretchy. Our heads are not round, and yet the band of this hat is perfectly circular. If I pull this on level with the ground, it squeezes my head uncomfortably at the front and rear, despite being loose on the sides. The only real way I can comfortably wear it is tilted back, where it doesn't provide much shade for my eyes. My head is 22.5" around, when measured according to the sizing chart, so I chose Medium-Large. If you're around this size, or if you have an especially oblong head, I'd recommend going for Large-X-Large instead. Actual diameter of the band is approximately 7.5", and there's no cinching mechanism. The 'cap' portion is like a trucker's hat, solid on front with mesh on back.As for actual electrical performance, I was able to get around 7W out of it before the output started to brown out. That was under an afternoon winter sun. I would expect closer to the 12W rating (printed on the hat) during summer. If I remember, I will come back and update this in six month's time.12W peak isn't a huge amount of power, but it's pretty decent for something you can wear, and should slowly fill up a phone or small power bank. There's no fast charging functionality at all, just basic 5V output. The USB-C port is VBUS hot, which isn't quite the right way to do it, but I can accept that given the lack of PD support.The positioning of the ports is a little strange. They face outward towards the rear, near the edge of and parallel to the brim. That means you have cables hanging out way behind you. Personally, I'd have preferred the ports be rotated 180 degrees to face the wearer's head, so they can be easily draped down the user's back and into a pocket.Included are a triangular storage bag, and a retaining chin cord. Getting the hat folded into the bag can be a little tricky at first, but is easy once you've figured it out. No USB cables are provided, but I have so many at this point that I honestly prefer it.So, is this a bit of a gimmick? Certainly, but it does both jobs of being a hat and a solar panel decently well. It doesn't generate a lot of power, but it's about what you would expect for the solar panel area. My main complaint is with comfort, and would definitely recommend going with the larger size if you're in doubt. Still, I can't help but enjoy this thing, even if it does make you look a little goofy.

Works exactly as advertised. Ecoflow makes solid products. Exactly as stylish as you think it is too, but I'm going for the Solarpunk vibe anyways 😎
