Served its purpose. Light weight. Foldable into half n put in side pocket of trekking pants. Might need to hold on to it when windy. With the cloth behind will be relatively safe even in a windy day

Excelente gorra, ya la he desquitado bastante en excursiones e incluso en la ciudad.

I like this hat. It is lightweight and fits in backpacks/bags easily. The top ventilation flaps on the top are nice, because you can close them when you want for maximum sun protection. This helps a lot with a bald head, because most other hats with mesh ventilation on the top/sides do not have an option to cover them when needed.

Lets face it, any sun protection hat has questionable fashion sense. But with that said, I feel that this hat looks pretty decent.I went to REI and tried many various Sun hats and this one appealed to me the most. The quality is nice and it's light on the head. Amongst all the "baseball cap" style hats I tried, I found this hats options, fit, and style to be the most pleasing. The bill can be folded in the middle and the rest of the hats material is easily crushable to stow into a small bag or pocket without worry of destroying the hat's integrity.I can't speak of the durability yet, but from what I can tell, it seems that this hat would hold up well. My only concern is the small button snaps that attach to the bill and close the sun shield together underneath the chin. They feel as if they may rip off over time so I would take care of them by not just simply yanking them apart. The top of the hat had two flaps that flip up to allow more air flow through the top of the head and hair. This is a nice feature and works well.I bought this hat because I started to bicycle to work here in LA and it needs to be light cool and protect from the sun.It was definitely better than any other hat I had and the sides and neck shields are great for sun protection. Ventilation is good. Only problem is the wind does pull open the sun shields a bit causing some sun to hit some parts of the face. I felt an additional snap could have been beneficial for something like this but I don't feel they made this with bicycling in mind. The juniper color is nice. REI only had the sandstone which is why I bought on amazon. This color is more manly and military "ish" in color. Sort of an grey green. Almost OD green. There's also a baby blue looking color on Sunday afternoons website but I think this is the most attractive and matches better with most clothing. The ability to remove the sun shields is awesome. I love multiple options. To remove You have to undo two snaps on the bill and then a belt loop in the back.I don't know why they just didn't keep it simple and just add a couple more snaps on back, but it's not too difficult to remove. Putting it back together takes two hands and more attention. Another snap would have been nice and easier.(UPDATE) After investigating the back and side sun shields, I understand why there is a belt loop option for attaching them on in the back. The sun shields have multiple loop holes that are hidden within the seems. With these and the belt located in the back you can cinch up the sun shields or guards to be worn in different styles. There are three sections. A right, and a left sun shield and one for the back of the neck. So if you want back of neck protection but the sides you would prefer open, you can loop it accordingly. It appears they really thought this hat through quite well. Other hats I've tried with the sun shields don't have this option.I even tried the Outdoor Research Sun Runners hat and I feel this hat looked and felt better and definitely had better options. Also th OR hat is UPF 30+ where as this hat is UPF 50+One small detail to note is that there is a small gap on the side of the cap where the sun shield meets the baseball cap. With a little adjustment this can be covered, either way it is very small and even if it shifts open during use, it would only expose the side of your hair. Unless you shave your head. But this is Unfortunately part of the nature of the hat since the shields can be removed. But I didn't find it to be a problem for me.Overall I really enjoyed this hat. It has a light comfortable feel, good build, decent look considering its a sun hat with multiple options. There are many sun hats, some more ugly then others, or more of a "bonnet" feminine look. For my money this is the best I've seen.I'm not into the Safari type hats. Many of those just look too goofy for me to wear. So this is it for me. ;)I gave it a four star rating for these reasons.1) Would've like to see more color options available ( I know it's a sun hat, but do they all have to be light browns, whites, khaki, or light blues?)2) An extra snap or two under the chin to really button down the shields incase of a windy day or bicycling.3) Although the belt option is there for sizing and wearing options, I felt adding more snaps would've still helped in simple easy of use.4) I can be a tough judge but believe style and sun protection doesn't can go exists. LolI hope you enjoyed this review, it was my first.
