Bagel Function
Bagel Setting heats the upper half of the bagel only for a crispy top and a soft, chewy bottom...the way a bagel should be!
If you enjoy a bagel that is crispy on both sides, no need to engage the bagel button. Just toast it like you would a normal piece of bread without pressing the bagel button.
Shade Control Setting
Shade control setting offers a full range of browning options to allow perfect customization of any piece of bread. Use the following settings for:
- Settings 1-2: light shade of toast
- Settings 3-5: medium shade of toast
- Settings 6-7: dark shade of toast

Extra Wide Slots

High Lift Lever
When your bread is finished toasting, the toaster carriage pops up. Sometimes the size of the bread may prevent the bread for popping clear out of the toaster.
Cuisinart offers a "HI Lift" lever that allows the user to boost the lever upwards, thus lifting the bread clear out of the unit for easy removal from the toaster with your fingers.
Dual Independent Toasting Controls

We have been pretty happy with this toaster. Toasts evenly and the knobs seem to correspond to the darkness of the toast. Our old one was an unpredictable mess so anything is an improvement. I have no complaints at all so far about this though ( which my husband would tell you is rare). It is fairly compact for 4 slices take up about 50% more counter space than the old 2 slicer. Does a good job with bagels and toast.

The Cuisinart CPT-142P1 does exactly what it promises—it toasts well, has good features, and has held up for two years with no issues. That said, for the price, I was hoping for a bit more in terms of build quality.✔ Toasts Evenly & Has Good Features – The shade control settings work well, and I like the bagel and defrost options.✔ Compact & Clean Design – It looks good on the counter and doesn’t take up too much space. The cord wrap underneath is a nice little detail.✖ Very Plastic Feel – The listing says "plastic," and it definitely feels plastic. I wish they had a slightly more premium option with metal or ceramic.Overall, it’s a solid toaster that works exactly as advertised, but for the price, I just expected it to feel a little nicer. 4 out of 5 stars. Maybe I'm just too picky.

Works very well! It took a couple of tries to find my preferred setting for toast, but it came out well. Nice, even toasting. Can't say that about my last toaster. The mechanics of the toaster seem to be very good. I've used it a numner of times in the 2 weeks I've had it. No negative issues at all so far. I may see if I can find a toaster cozy to cover it when not in use.

Love it. Should have replaced my old toaster a long time ago. Cooked 4 Eggo waffles this morning and they were perfect! Evenly cooked on all sides and quickly. Very happy with this toaster.
