The build quality of this Coleman TranslatR seems good. Nice zipper and stitching. Strong fabrics. I tested it by putting a quart of iced water in the cooler. Twelve hours later ice was gone, but water was still cold. At 24 hours the water was room temperature. This was at an ambient room temperature of about 65F. The product listing states 12 hours for cold items. The label on the actual cooler says 24 hours. I am thinking that if I had packed it full of beverage cans and ice it would have stayed cold closer to the 24 hours. As for capacity. I was able to fit 2 half gallon milk cartons in to the cooler without a problem. But, that didn't leave too much room except for a few small items. The shoulder straps are okay, but not great. I wouldn't want to be carrying 16 beverage cans and ice for hours using these shoulder straps. If you are wanting to bring some frozen foods back from the store, when you are riding your bike, these straps will be good for that. By the way one place the listing say 16 cans another place it says 16 cups. More importantly for some folks the listing says, "Exterior fabric made from recycled polyester fibers." The interior label on the actual cooler says " New Material Only". I ordered this cooler because the listing said "Recycled Material". I'm thinking it isn't. I believe the product label. Country of Origin? The interior label on the cooler says Cambodia. The attached label on the outside of the cooler originally said Cambodia also. But, a paper label had been glued over the original that says Made in China. Bottom line: It seems to be well made and will have a good service life. I am not happy about the different information between the listing and the cooler's labels. Causes me to wonder what the real story is. And I would not have ordered this cooler had the listing not said made from recycled materials, in bold type in the title. As for usability, this cooler should do fine bringing frozen foods and refrigerated foods back from the grocers. And I'll be using it for that. So 4 stars for the cooler's build quality and 2 stars for what seems to be inaccurate information about this Coleman cooler.

This Coleman cooler is a great option for keeping your drinks and lunch cold when you hit the road or the trail. This arrived in the mail and went right to work on a weekend getaway, and it performed particularly well riding in the back seat without any leaks over the course of the weekend. The size of the cooler bag is perfect for a weekend getaway worth of road sodas and snacks. We packed 6 cans of juice and a few sandwiches on top with some ice in the bottom, and the ice stayed fresh and frozen for a good 12 hours after we'd left. The bag is easy to rinse out and dry, as well, and then packs up easily due to its collapsible, soft design. The included strap is convenient for carrying it over your shoulder, and will definitely come in handy this summer on our beach outings. The overall construction is solid and well-made, with heavy stitching and clean seams. The zippered top and front pocket work great without snagging also.As an alternative to "classic" rigid coolers from Coleman, this option provides an easy and clean way to transport your cold foods and drinks, and - frankly - I prefer the soft materials over the hard shell designs for carrying. Altogether, I'm stoked to have this in our arsenal of road trip and camping gear!

This Coleman backpack is a nice smaller cooler great for a walk or short hike. It holds enough for my family for a half-day or morning hike (I need to pack 5 sandwiches, 5 soda cans, water for the dog and a few snacks for the humans), but isn't so big that it becomes too heavy to carry. It's also a nice size for a beach or park trip where you need food, snacks or drinks in the cooler. It stays cold long enough for my use, which is about 4-6 hours with just a couple of ice packs and the chilled soda cans/water bottles. It is comfortable to carry with either the shoulder strap or the backpack straps. The outside pockets are nice for quick-to-reach items like hand sanitizer, tissues or sunglasses. It's built well, but is very lightweight, so the durability will depend on how you pack it (lots of very heavy cans will put more strain than lighter items over time). The only critique I have is that the top access zipper is not as wide-mouthed as I'd like it, requiring a little more digging around.Overall, it's a nice size, easy to use and a very good value for the cost of a cooler like this.

I had really high hopes for the Coleman TranslatR 16-Can Leakproof Soft Cooler Backpack. It works as intended but does have a few quirks. The insulation is really heavy duty and kept our drinks cold for a 3+ hour road trip we took. It fits 6 20-oz bottles of soda with ice on the top and bottom. The decision to put a handle on only 1 side of the bag is a real head scratcher and makes it hard to carry when not using the shoulder strap. The zipper only across the top instead of around the top also makes it hard to fill and grab drinks.

I was tempted to get a larger cooler bag, but this ended up being perfect. It's going to be much smaller than you expect. It's around the size of a lunch box or a small grocery shopping bag that fits two 2-liter bottles of soda. That said, this is perfect for a day trip. You can pack in a few tupperware boxes in here without any issues. The best part is that it'll work for both hot and cold foods. It's rugged so it can take a beating and there are additional side pockets to store stuff like utensils and napkins. You can either carry it using the shoulder strap of the backpack straps that can be stowed away. The straps are small and lightweight so they aren't the most comfortable especially loaded up. While a lot can be better, I'm happy with the price point for what I'm getting here.
