The gold will chip and I’m afraid the paint will come off while I’m eating. I don’t think it’s safe. It’s sad because I hate throwing things in the landfill. I would just buy a plain silverware set and then buy decorative plates.

I was first drawn to this silverware because I’m doing kind of a gold and pink themed kitchen. I like the weight and feel of them to hold, the are a little heavy in the handle which I like. They are also easy for my toddler to hold. I also love the pretty pink of the handle. Unfortunately I’ve had them only a few weeks and already their quality has shown through.They aren’t truly golden they are silver with a cheap coating of gold that washes off shortly after you get them. Also some of the edges are kind of sharp, when you’re eating using them, it almost feels like uncomfortable in your mouth, like rough edges.Overall if you’re comfortable with silver and pink instead of gold and pink, and occasionally having to sand down one of your silverware, then this is still a good buy. If not though, this isn’t the purchase for you.
