I recently acquired a nice pair of studio monitors with female XLR inputs. This cable looked perfect for hooking up my iPad or phone... USB-C, split to left and right XLR male connectors.Once it arrived, I immediately noticed a significant problem. The length of cable after the split is WAY too short for any reasonable separation of left and right speakers. This was not clear to me in any of the descriptions or pictures. The cables after the split or Y need to be a minimum of about 3 feet. I still use it, but I had to get some XLR extension cables to make it work for my set-up. Very poor design decision IMHO.Otherwise, the cable works quite well. Good quality connectors. The USB-C is long and slender enough to work with typical phone cases. It's also got a nice strain relief feature, though neither of the XLR connectors have that. The cable itself is a good quality braided material that feels very durable. The cable includes a DAC chip for converting digital audio to analog audio required by most audio equipment. The sound quality is surprisingly good. I was a little worried using these with such high-end studio monitors. But I cannot discern any degradation at all.Overall, I'm pretty happy with this cable. Nice build quality and materials. Excellent sound quality. But I was very disappointed in the short cable lengths after the Y or split. I can't understand that design decision.

This dual Female XLR to USB-C seems to be made pretty well. I actually got the wrong cable (I intended to order the dual MALE XLR to USB-C cable), so this one will go in the arsenal until somebody drops over and needs it, and that's where I will jump in - like the MacGyver of audio - and smugly say, "oh, yeah - I've got a cord for that." LOLOLWell-made, sturdy cable, but I'll be honest - I haven't tested it!

There is some confusion with this cable! And maybe I'm confused. I used to run a small project recording studio, including refurbishing analog equipment. So while I am open to being wrong, I don't think I am, and I know my way around a cable. The description lists this as a digital to analog cable, but I have no evidence that this is digital. If it's digital, I can't get it to work digitally. None of my fancy-pants audio gear or computers recognize this as a digital device. This is seemingly an analog to analog connection: USB contains three pins for analog audio, which is the same as a headphone output (with a tip/ring/sleeve for left/right/ground). This appears to send an analog out over the cable from the USB to the XLR, the XLR having pins for left/right/ground as well.I wish I had a cable tester, as I see someone say that the XLR signal is not balanced. Analog output through a headphone jack (whether 1/8" or USB C) is never balanced but should be grounded, and it appears to have a working ground pin on the cable. My interface does not give me a warning about an ungrounded input, and there is very little hum/ground line distortion. How's it work? Great!! Recording music or voice messages from my phone to my workstation has never been easier. I love that I don't need to spend 5 minutes configuring an elaborate chain of converters and cables - it's all right here. The cable is just fine, feels robust, and the braiding isn't overly plasticy. I like it!

I'm a bit of a packrat and like to have things like this for that obscure situation that might arise. So this will live in my in-home studio until the perfect moment. But I did connect it to my Pixel phone and MOTU interface and it sounded quite good. I can fully understand concerns others have mentioned with the cable length after the Y being short for connecting to speakers as they are typically far apart. And I'm not fully convinced this is actually delivering a balanced signal. But for my quick test, it worked fine so I can't fault it yet. Will update as I get more use out of it.
