This is great for powering up your dash cams, especially if it has parking mode. It's a simple plug-and-play and gives you two different settings for how you want power delivered to your dash cam without having to hardwire your dash cam to your fuse box. There are three voltage cutoff settings that once reached immediately shut off power to your dash cam to leave enough juice in your car battery to turn on. This is very useful in the winter when your battery needs more power to start or if you don't drive often enough to keep your battery charged via the alternator. There are also three power settings that let you decide if you want always-on power or power only when this device detects a collision or motion. The second USB-A port is a nice bonus in case you want to charge other devices. One thing to note is that the maximum output from this adapter is 5V/3A so 1) make sure that's enough to power your dash cam and 2) don't expect fast charging for other devices.

This was exactly what I needed so I didn't have to hard wire to my chevy blazer rs . Im a 59 year old woman and I asked every man I knew and they were afraid of connecting it wrong and causing a issue .so problem solved with this device ! No electrical mechanics and $$$ to have it hard wired installed !

This is a handy little USB power power that plugs into the on-board diagnostic (OBD) port in your car. It has a pigtail cord with two USB-A ports on it, and then there are two little toggle switches. One of the switches control what the adapter does based on the voltage of the 12V battery in your car. L mode turns off the power when the battery is below 11.6V, M mode is 11.8V and H mode is 12V. The other toggle is a timer. P mode leaves power on for 24 hours, I turns it off after three minutes and II turns it off after 10 minutes. The ability to control when and how long accessories are receiving power is extremely helpful in preventing your battery from getting drained. We have a dash cam in our Ford Escape, and if we plug it into the 12V socket in the car using a USB adapter, it stays powered 24/7 and drains the battery. My wife ended up stranded one time because of this. This little OBD dongle solved that problem permanently. The dash cam now stays powered for 3 minutes after the car is turned off, and will not power on at all if the battery is below 12V.The only thing I wish this had (and I don't even know if this is possible) is a way to pass through the OBD port. As it is, we obviously can't use the OBD port and this at the same time.
