I was hoping that this camera backpack was going to work out for a few trips I have planned in March. My first order was a returned bag that was missing a Velcro pad and had stains on the backpack along some faded spots or maybe the backpack was stored too long in a shipping container or the previous buyer took it out on a few trips before returning it to Amazon. I returned the first one and purchased another to see if my luck would be better. For an $80 dollar camera bag, this backpack should be built better. I have a Tarion sling bag and that is pretty good, but this camera backpack was a waste of time and money. The yellow color on the Amazon site looks punchy and bright, but once you open the box, you see a dirty yellow and the straps and back portion is faded, not a deal breaker, but should be better represented in the amazon site ( see attached pics). The side access zippers do not have enough protection from inside the bag. You can see the zippers and light come in from inside the backpack, this could lead to moisture exposure and possible scratches on your camera. The deal breaker for me was the lack of stability and durability withing the backpack itself. If you have a small APS-c camera like a Sony A6000 with a small lens, this may work.I have a full frame Nikon ZF with a Tamron 28-75mm and a one 55mm Meike Pro in the Tarion backpack and you can see the Velcro padding has a problem holding the camera in place. Notice that the Velcro tabs are not attached to the outer rim of the backpack. Tarion needs to have a support strap or protective lining that zippers all around the outer portion of the body to help support the weight of the gear. With just the camera and 2 lenses, the internal structure of the bag contorts and can't hold the gear in place. The other 2 things that bothered me was there was no protection between the lens/camera storage area and the top portion where you would store your iPad or laptop, and you have to place you camera in the backpack upside down in order to retrieve it from the side access in an upright position. Tarion needs to do better, a lot better. This is not good value for the money. If the backpack sold for $35 dollars, then maybe it would be OK for a small camera. I would not trust putting a $2000 camera along with 2 lenses ($1000) in this bag.

This is the first backpack for cameras I have owned and I have been researching them for a few weeks now (in-store and online) before I purchased this one. This backpack has lots of room for gear. There are at least two spots for SLR/DSLR cameras (one has a strap to hold it secure) and other spaces for several lenses and/or flash. It comes with a waterproof/rain jacket/cover (I have not tested this feature, though). It feels comfortable to wear. There is a compartment for a tablet or small laptop. You can move around the inserts held in by hook and loop ("Velcro") to arrange your bag how you desire. There are two straps on the side for a monopod/tripod (I would have preferred it to be on the bottom though for balance). There are a couple of things I don't like. Firstly, it may just be me, but, oddly, the opening to the main compartment is on the inside (closest to where you wear it against your body), unlike every other backpack I have used where the opening to the main compartment is on the outside. Secondly, there are no pockets on the side with zippers, only pouches held shut by elastic; I would like to keep things more securely held than elastic. Thirdly, there are no compartments to keep things securely inside with zippers for SD cards, filters, batteries, etc.Overall, this is a decent camera backpack. This one has many of the features of more expensive ones. The opening in the rear and lack of any extra zippered pockets lowers my score, though--I don't understand why they made it that way.

I got this for those days when I take a lot of my things for the most flexible use. I used it once so far to take pictures and video at a friend's wedding shower. I knew the shower was going to last into the evening, so I wanted more than my 2 trusty lenses and I wanted to play around with some filters. I had a regular travel tripod that was about 2.5lbs and a small table-top tripod. I shoot with a Lumix S5IIX in a Smallrig Black Mamba cage. I filled the bag with my longest lens mounted to the camera, my 24-105mm F4. I also wanted to take my 50mm F1.8 and the 85mm F1.8, along with the on-camera mic I usually use, as well as a wireless lavalier mic kit that I am testing out. I also had a wooden handle that attaches to the NATO rail on the side of the cage, and on this I had a small Smallrig video light. Also, I threw in a battery bank, an SSD and 3 batteries. Cleaning kit, water bottle, filter case. I think that's it.Well there was a place for everything and with all that gear, the bag was still really comfortable. I was excited to get a backpack with side-access, but it is a little tight to get my camera in and out because of the size of it. Something else that I really like is how smooth the zippers are, and that they all have these nice zipper pulls. There are clever compartments all around. I am glad that it includes a rain cover but I did not have to deploy that yet. I have gotten compliments on the color of the bag. I quite like it as well. One thing that I want to point out is that the bag came in a box and was not crushed at all. I really appreciated this. So many bags are folded or even wadded up so much, they never seem to get the right shape back. With all the padding and dividers in this one, trying to ship it flat or compressed would have been a real problem. As it was, it was just perfect and ready to go right out of the box.If you are looking for a relatively small backpack for your full kit plus a couple of small personals (you are not going to be packing a jacket unless you are pretty innovative with the interior) this is the perfect bag for you. It has excellent organization, lots of padding, and is really comfortable.

This is the second TARION camera backpack I have ordered in the last few months. I simply cannot resist a good backpack, and found the last model to be really nice. This pack is a bit larger, and can hold a 15.6 inch laptop as opposed to the smaller version which holds a 14 inch laptop. I have never needed to take a laptop with me, but this larger model is made for the size computer I actually have.Fit and finish of this pack is fantastic. I can store more gear into the padded movable compartments. The big difference for me is the added waist belt which is not included with the smaller pack. This is what I really need when I go out loaded with lenses and accessories.Once again, I really like the color for field work. I often times leave my pack in the grass or woods when i roam about nearby. I can spot this pack easily from a distance. Most packs tend to become invisible at a distance, but this toned down canary yellow screams 'here I am' to me.Tarion has thought of everything here, even a zippered mesh partition so if you open the pack at an odd angle, your gear will stay in the pack. All of the connection points and zippers are top notch. It includes a rain cover for those times you get caught out in the hard rain. Mild rain and fog, I don't think you will need it. This pack zips up nice and tight. It has a side compartment for easy access to your camera if you are traveling and something happens quickly. The other side benefit of the added belt system is I can slip off the shoulder harness, and while keeping the belt secured, I can swing the pack around and open up the zippered back to access gear without having to place the pack on the ground. It's a larger pack, and the belt system is a real plus in my book. This is an easy recommendation...love it!
