I needed a larger Molcajete to make salsa and this does not disappoint. It's heavy, large and beautifully made. It was easy to season before use. It could be used as a bowl after making the salsa. Easily one of my favorite kitchen items.

The mortar arrived broken at the base. Based on how large the damaged area is vs how little debris was in the box, I can only assume that this was packaged already pre-damaged (especially since the box lid was secured with tape). I’m so disappointed about an item that I was pretty excited for. It’s too much of a hassle to return, and it’s functionally fine, so I’ll keep it until I can find a better replacement).
