Bought them to use with gouache, but they absorb water too quickly--apparently no sizing. I imagine that water-based white pens would be absorbed too quickly as well.

I am a beginner at Zentangle. These tiles are just what I was looking for to practice my skills. I will order more.

I love these tiles. They are large in size. I should have read the dimensions. I went by the picture and they looked small.
