Such a cute cup for the price if you have science lover in your life! The look was great and it was your average tumbler.

I love that this mug is a fantastic concept and gift idea (mainly stem students and teachers). A few of which I am lucky to have in my life. It is a generic tumbler which I imagine you could customize to hold any printed material, and this one happened to have a print of the periodic table of the elements. This mug was not what I was expecting at all. The end product looks homemade and may or not be giftable, depending on your intended recipient. The paper isn't an exact fit on my mug, making it challenging to use it as a reference. This mug is still fabulous for a cup's casual use or display purposes. I was still pumped about it because of the casual intelligent vibes. I could still use it for personal use even if I am not ordering a ton as gifts. The fundamentals of the tumbler are ironically lacking. The tumbler is not functional as a tumbler either. It does not keep hot drinks hot, and it does not keep cold drinks cold. It will just chill (remain at room temperature) on my desk for now.

AS a chemistry teacher I thought this was a great tumbler/mug. Love the pictures on the table showing some of the common materials and things that each element is used for.Tested this with some ice/water and over an hour later I still had a nice chunk of the ice left in the sample so it kept things cool very well.

What a disappointment. This mug is suggested as a gift for the chemist in your life. I'm not a chemist, and in fact, I'm terrible at chemistry. But I'm fascinated by the periodic table, and the fact that the elements on it represent all the building blocks that make up our world. Kind of the Legos of our lives, if you will. And I was frustrated when looking at this listing that there were no good product photos of the actual mug. Turns out, there's a reason for that. Basically, this tumbler kind of sucks.First, the table is so freakin' small I can't really read it without my reading glasses. Not exactly what I had in mind when I imagined myself taking a coffee break and learning something about promethium or tungsten. And it's not just small, it's also pretty blurry. This rendering of the periodic table DOES have some interesting information, which is why I was interested in it in the first place. For example, it is color coded to indicate different groups of elements, including noble gases, alkali metals, halogens, etc. There is also a key to indicate certain properties of various elements, so any element that is found in the human body, for example, has a tiny symbol of the human body in the corner of its square. But those symbols are so impossibly tiny that they are virtually illegible...at least without holding the mug right up into your face to try to read it.But whatever about that. The tiny print might only be an inconvenience if the quality of this mug were of a giftable, or even decent, standard. Alas, it is not. It's a very basic insulated metal tumbler. The periodic table design is an actual PIECE OF PAPER wrapped around and tucked into the clear outer part of the tumbler! A piece of paper! And it is so immediately obvious, too. (See my photos.) To be fair, I re-read the description of this mug, and it does actually say "[t]his chemistry cup comes with a paper insert that shows the chemistry periodic table of elements". My bad. I obviously didn't notice that when I ordered it. But still. A piece of paper?? And they describe this as being a good gift?!I want to give this mug two stars for being cheap (the paper) and hard to read. But I filled it with hot water and it kept it hot or warm for at least an hour and a half (maybe more), so I think it performs as well as can be expected. The paper insert thing is on me, but I still think it's incredibly cheap, and the seller, Zastic!, deliberately didn't show it in product photos. Maybe that's because they also knew there are MISSPELLINGS on their periodic table! (Again, see "Radioavtive" in my photos.)Look, don't buy this mug. Just print out the periodic table, fold it up, keep it in your wallet, and pull it out to look at during your coffee break. It'll be a very similar experience. And please don't give this to anybody as a gift. Unless you don't like them.I hope that sharing my experience with this product might help YOU make a more informed purchase. Happy shopping!

My daughter has a late summer/early fall birthday, and each year her grandfather has surprised her with a quirky water bottle to celebrate her birthday and the start of school. Sadly, he passed away last year (on her birthday!) They were very close, so I've been dreading this year's birthday for her because of how bittersweet and emotional it will likely be.When I saw this periodic table travel tumbler, I knew it would be a symbolic way for my daughter to feel like her beloved grandpa was still close in spirit. (Especially since my daughter is taking Chemistry this year!) Honestly, it brought me comfort and positive memories simply by ordering it, so I'm confident it will do the same for her.
