Absolutely love this device.Perfect when your pet is on feeding schedule. Portions are snack size and that’s exactly what keeps my cat in shape . Most important for those who have 3am feeding your cat problems by purchasing this feeder you cans set up schedule over the app and enjoy full night sleep.My cat didn’t like the bowl it came with it so I had to modify a little bitOh yes this feeder can be powered by batteries when you are loosing electricity

This feeder has been great. My cat wants his breakfast at 5:00 am sharp. If he doesn’t get it, the meowing and furniture scratching begins. This is why I wanted an automatic feeder.My cat loves it more than I do! He knows what time breakfast is served. Occasionally he will announce the time is approaching. And sometimes he sings his song of gratitude after breakfast. But that is short lived. And retired me does not have to be up at 5 am any more.It was easy to set up, no problem getting connected to my WiFi. Holds enough food for about a week. Heavy enough he can’t turn it over easily. You can schedule food for as many times a day or week as needed. It has a battery back up which is important if you use this for when you are away from home.I did try another feeder prior to this one and returned it. The other was clunky. This one looks nice as I have it in my kitchen.You cat will know their food in in this. But they cannot open the lid. There is a push method to opening it. Since they do not have fingers they cannot access it. However. If you have a large dog in residence, I would be sure to locate this so they don’t have access to it. A strong dog could possibly turn it over and chew on it. Everything is rounded likely to avoid chewing on it.

Bought this not expecting much, but am very surprised. Connects seamlessly to wifi and continues to to work when disconnected from wifi based on the schedule you had set. Also has direct power and battery backup which is nice. Setting a feeding schedule is very easy via the app and can be tracked. It dispenses about 8 - 10 grams per serving.Only downside, it's not vacuum sealed. Still securely sealed though.CHANGED REVIEW - since my original review it has disconnected from my wifi multiple times. Luckily it still follows the same schedule I had programmed - until I tried resetting it to fix the wifi connection and now even though it have a schedule saved it never dispenses food. For the past few days I have had to manually release food. Really unimpressed that this worked so well for a month, and have now started facing issues.
