If you're buying this for bullet time use it'll work very well. The rotation mechanism is very robust and smooth. Good bearings, strong aluminum construction with a very long axle that goes halfway down the handle to resist lateral forces. The screw rotation lock works fine, although it does take a couple of turns and the head drags on the screw lock so I don't see any in-between modes as being usable. Could've just been a splined axel with a locking collar to quickly toggle the rotation lock instead. The biggest downside of this product is the plastic handle, which are also the legs when in tripod mode. No metal reinforcement there and the outside surface is completely smooth. It could've used some texture or knurling to help with grip, and I really would've appreciated if it were also aluminum for strength. No issues with lighter devices, but if you're going to put a heavier camera on this to use as a tabletop tripod it might get a bit sketchy. The magnets at the base to keep the legs closed are also too weak. You can open the legs just by shaking it around. Makes it a bit annoying stowing this in pockets as the legs try to open if they catch on anything.Aside from the weak plastic legs it's a well built device. I really like that they've included rubber covers for both of the screw mounts in the appropriate shapes (rectangle for the side, circle for the top) to make it look like specifically designed caps. It's also got rubber tips on the feet which cover the (weak) magnets that hold the legs closed.

I have Insta360 Evo camera which I can do bullet time to make video as if I have a drone shot.I attached my light carbon fiber selfie stick that I ordered from Amazon. Each 1/4 20 thread is well protected with silicon cap. I just remove the side thead to attah the selfie stick. Now i have invisible stick that hovers over me in circle.I wish this tripod had a bit longer leg for lager hand people like me.The joint is very smooth and if you are not using the tripod for bullet time, you can lock up the rotation by just twisting the joint area.Light and portable. Well made and built from good material, not cheap plastic.Legs seems to be strong and does not feel like it'll break off any time soon (like some cheap desktop tripod I purchased in the past).Highly recommend as a desktop tripod or bullet time handle.
