Kinda silly. As the food expands as it freezes it pushes out on the sides and does not make a perfect brick. For freezing leftovers, it works fine. If freezing water ahead of bad weather, it will not sit flat when removed from the form. Water expands too much.

I now own 2 sets of these wonderful products. To use, just put a quart-size Ziploc bag inside (label it first). Ladle your soup or stew (or whatever) until it's full. Be sure to leave some headroom. Freeze until solid; then remove the supports. Stack in freezer until you're ready to use. The resulting blocks are real space savers. I highly recommend them, especially if you don't have a lot of freezer space.

When I froze stock/bone broth in plastic containers, I always had to leave lots of room at the top so the expanding liquid didn't push the lids off. So my freezer was full of, perhaps, 2/3 full plastic containers. With these products I can freeze the same amount in a plastic bag, pull them out of the containers and put them in the freezer with far less space. Very easy to clean and store. I ordered a second set. Brilliant.
