Lamentablemente no cumplió su función, con la primera nuez se rompió, no se si estaba roto previamente o no soporto la presión.

Es demasiado frágil para cualquier tipo de nuez. El mío se rompió en el 1er intento!!!! Es, básicamente, un producto BASURA.

the bolt at the crossing of handles has a tendency of pulling out; i have to pay attention not to lose it, and without it holding handles together the item is not functional

This is the best chestnut cutter I’ve ever owned. I’ve been through at least 3 plastic ones over the years that broke. This one is sturdy and totally worth it. Great product.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a musician and because of this I have developed repetitive strain injuries in both wrists which makes it very difficult for me to grip. I also have a small walnut orchard and gather up and collect probably about 120-250 gallons of walnuts a year which I shell by hand. My wrists were getting swollen and fingers were getting raw doing this by hand so when I saw this tool I was so excited.... Quickly followed by disappointment when it arrived and I got the chance to try it out. Unfortunately this tool is quite incapable of doing its job on walnuts in particular. Walnuts have a very hard shell and this tool didn't work for many reasons. #1: it doesn't open wide enough to fit larger ones (or even most medium ones). #2:it doesn't apply pressure to the correct places on the nut. The tool with the "tooth" did not slide into the seam even with maximum pressure and it also sent the walnut flying across the room. #3: it broke the first time I used it. Not a permanent break and just the spring came flying off but it was inconvenient for me to have to reinsert it after every attempt when it's already a very time consuming task. Despite all of these things I gave it 3 stars because I think the design is going to be perfect for most other varieties of nuts just not walnuts at least not when combined with my lack of grip strength. My neighbor tried it out on pecans and it seemed to do well although other methods she uses seemed to work better for her.

This tool is wonderful! So easy to use, and very heavy duty. I chose this one over others that were more expensive, and I’m glad I did! My family enjoys roasted chestnuts for the brief time they’re available, and this tool allows us to prepare them with ease.
