When it comes to buying bulk batteries for smoke detectors, I recommend these batteries. They may not be the best for high-performance devices. But they work well for the lowley, faithful smoke detectors.

We use a lot of 9volt batteries so I decided to stock up for a while. What I like about these is the individual wrap to help preserve battery life and keep them from getting old on the shelf

The YKM 9V is a set of four carbon-zinc batteries typically used in devices like smoke detectors, certain toys, and even guitar effect pedals. However, they’re most commonly used for home smoke detectors, which is what I’ll focus on from my own experience.For a smoke detector, reliable power is crucial—firstly because it needs to function continuously, and secondly, no one wants to be woken up at 3 a.m., frantically searching for a replacement when it starts beeping to signal a low battery.As my father always says, “Better to have extra than not enough!” This phrase fits these batteries perfectly, as their price is about half that of similar ones from a popular brand. Technically, you're getting double the amount for the same price, but isn’t that essentially the same thing?Anyway, I installed them in my smoke detector a few months back, and the "extras" are now stored with my tools as spares. The manufacturer claims they’ll last up to 7 years in storage, though I have my doubts about that, and I suspect no one will ever truly verify it from personal experience.Everything’s working perfectly, and I have no complaints. My one caveat is that these might not be the best fit for high-drain devices like remote-controlled toys or guitar pedals. But for home use, they’re a solid choice—I’ve tested them myself!

Everything was fine til about the 5th battery . Just a couple months old. Took it out of the plastic.. put it in my guitar about 2 hours before show and dead. Thank God i decided to sound check that guitar a second time ... Nothing. Licked the battery.. not even a tingle. Completely dead. These usually last a couple months in my bass guitars.

These batteries are a good price, and a good count. After I install them I'll still have others as backups. Hopefully they'll have a long life. I can't really speak to their functionality until they're installed, and the duration of their life. I still need to install them in my smoke detectors, but will have to wait until I'm able to move the ladder into the house. Thank you, RM.
