This little downlighting is VERY cool! Its really small size makes it perfect for just about anyplace you’d like to add a little extra or accent lighting. I’ll be installing mine inside an open display nook to illuminate a ceramic sculpture.It’s an LED light that only uses 5-watts of energy. I love the enormous flexibility of this light as you can smoothly control the brightness anywhere between 1% & 100%. Using the free Smart Life app, you can fully control the color temperature from 2700K (warm) to 6500K (bright sunlight) and choose ANY of 16-MILLION colors too… All from your smartphone. Better yet, with Alexa (or Google Assistant) you can simply control all of this with your voice!There is also a “music mode” whereby you can set this light so that it’s color will change with the music rhythm! Now, how cool is that?This lighting device doesn’t require any type of dimmer switch or external appliance but it does need to be connected to AC power so you should either be comfortable and capable of installing it yourself or you should plan on having a professional install it for you.Lastly, the instructions indicate that you can run up to 200 of the in a single home and control each of them individually. I think this little device is truly magical and well deserving of five stars.

I really like the RGBW ability of this small assembly.I’m testing this style lamp for use around the overhang soffit on the house. I’d really like to use an RGBW light if possible. They would be great for holiday lighting. Imagine Christmas lights, Fourth of July, Halloween. The possibilities are endless and no more stringing lights! So cool.Until… As I was unwiring one test unit and installing this one, I realized my installation with 14Ga. Romex was illegal.In order to meet the NEC Residential code, I will have to mount the plastic small lamp power supplies inside approved electrical boxes. That adds more complexity and cost.The ultra-thin LED lamps I was originally planning on using come with approved metal junction boxes. The LED power supplies are already in a box. The connections are enclosed.I’m still going to do it, but I’m going to follow code and put the small power supplies inside a 4-inch box above the soffit.I want each light to be controllable. That is automatic the Wi-Fi control that is included in the lamp assembly. With a regular ‘white’ lamp, I have to add a Shelly or Sonoff mini smart switch to each lamp.It’s all starting to come together. Just a few more tests….

I am reviewing: YGS-Tech Smart 2 Inch LED Recessed Lighting RGB WiFi Downlight, 5W Compatible with Alexa and Google Home, Dimmable RGB & CCT 2700-6500K Color Changing, 120V LED Ceiling Light with LED Driver (1 Pack)This light went into the light bank over our kitchen counters, along with six white LED lights. This one adds just a little bit of fun to our kitchen. It can be used as a white light, and has a sliding scale that changes the white level. It matches our others perfectly.It was easy to install with the others using wire to space the new lights for the existing holes. They are energy savers and cooler than the previous lights we replaced. The colors are so much fun. There is a tiny lag time when lighting this one as compared to the non/color changing lights.This one runs with the TUYA app, which I already had installed for some other devices in my home. The controls are on the light side, as opposed to the electrical in side, so this light works when the power is on to the light bank, but then can be controlled with the app to change the white light warmth level/ color or on/off.

No customer service! App does NOT work can’t sync 12 lights. A nightmare!!
