Used them to chase threads on an aluminum intake manifold that had been painted. Worked great and allowed me to install the plugs flush with the surface of the intake instead of sticking out with little thread engagement.

As a custom car builder for the last 20 years, I’ve never been as impressed with a very low cost tool than I have with these. The taps are really high quality, super sharp, cuts clean threads, and the grind is as good as any other well known brand of hss cutting tools I’ve bought. No swarf left in the cutting edge area of the tap like many other cheap taps, which makes it impossible to even attempt to use. (HFT carbon steel taps are literally useless due to this)For the price, I wouldn’t waste my money on the expensive ones. 5 out of 5.

Not sharp at all, and there are burrs where they're tappered.Too poor of quality to cut any threads. Complete waste of money.

Was totally shot after the second hole. Used the correct drill size and quality cutting oil and it didn’t last at all. Should’ve bought the better name brands. Seriously let down

It's surprisingly difficult to find high speed steel NPT taps here on Amazon but this set fills that gap, they don't cut as quickly as more expensive taps ($50 EACH) but with a bit of patience and cutting oil they produce clean straight threads.I used the 1/2-14 tap for cutting threads on a 11/16 fuel rail and it worked perfect. Chips broke off clean and the result looks professional. I'll definitely buy another set of these when more work requires it!
