I had this up for a couple weeks and had a false alarm cause of cooking which cause it to go off and it sent an alarm to my phone within about ~10 seconds. Definitely works, easy to set up and would buy again. Also may be a good idea to put one near your wifi router. Just incase that goes up in flames you’ll get a notification before it does compared to one far away from it and may nigh activate till there’s no longer any wifi

i gave this carbon monoxide detector 5 stars…. Well, fortunately, not because it detected carbon monoxide in my home…. You have to have some faith in the vendor as to whether it actually will detect the levels they say. Instead, im talking about its overall design and packaging. So the X-Sense detector comes with some screws and mounting plugs to screw the sensors backplate to the wall. A paper wall template was not included and would have been nice. Without it, using the backplate as a template of where to drill holes into the wall, just be aware of how the backplate fits into the sensor because the holes have to be drilled in the correct position to insure that when the sensor is mounted, the tiny screen will be faced in its proper position. You dont want the sensor display to be tilted and look funny, although if it is tilted, it shouldn’t affect its function.Just before mounting, you’ll install the app and then remove the tiny tape where the battery contacts are to allow the battery to make proper contact. The sensor then turns on and you can easily complete setup of the sensor from the app. It took a couple minutes to set the app up (registering a free account) but once it detects the sensor, the app sends you a few prompts and in under a minute, your sensor is ready to go!I can’t vouch for battery life yet. Haven’t had it that long, but just be aware that when you do need to replace a battery, it wont be a standard AA or AAA battery. It’s a special lithium battery. But no worries! I’ve used these before in our ADT security sensors and they’re easy to find and not too expensive. I’ve bought them from Amazon many times in the past. If my ADT sensors are any indication, the X-Sense sensor battery may not need to be replaced for years!Son in reference to Nest smoke detectors, what i meant by saying they’re almost like them is that the X-Sense detectors do work over wifi and will alert you to a detection from the detector itself as well as sending you an alert wherever you may be; as long as you have wifi or cellular connectivity from your phone and your home wifi hasn’t gone down. But unlike Nest detectors, the X-Sense detectors will not talk to each other nor will they run through an automatic test periodically. But then again, the X-Sense detectors are a fraction of the cost and are a great deal in my opinion! So price is fantastic, setup was easy and functionality is fantastic! I can highly recommend these X-Sense detectors!

I love this model, as it easy to install and program. Looks to be well made. The iPhone app menus are simple to navigate, setup is quick, flexible, and intuitive. Fair price for a dual wi-fi detector.

Ever since the first electronic smoke/carbon monoxide alarms came out, we have been stuck with the idiotic, annoying, infuriating way virtually all of them operated! An ear-splitting noise as its only output, that could only be silenced by physically placing hands on it -- a real bummer when it's placed at the highest point of a vaulted ceiling! Sure it needs to get your attention, but once that's done you need to be able to think, and that heinous sound makes it very difficult!More, the way the old ones indicated a low battery condition just absolutely sucked, a short, piercing sound every 5-10 minutes, and nothing else! As most houses have more than one, locating the problem unit was maddening, standing under one waiting for the next squeal -- soooo lame! Most annoying standard ever! But now we can kiss those dark days goodbye! A wireless app shows you the status of all units you have installed, allows you to name each one to indicate location, tells you battery level AND CO level, to let you know how concentrated it is/how much danger you are in AND the big one (wait for it...) lets you pause the hellish noise from the app, without having to touch it! HUGE advantages, very intelligent design -- it's as smart as the old ones were stupid!Hats off to the engineers that designed this, they are truly a credit to their profession! And also to the maker, for the very competitive price point! (If you're listening, please, please make a marine grade version; when you do, I'll take two!)
