I think if you are after that creamy and warm low-mid growl and mid tone that is not high-mid or treble heavy and which will sit well in a mix but not overly in your face crystal clear high-mid (3k-4k) forward tone, than this pedal may be for you. It excels at producing both a "creamy and warm (back off on treble knob)" tone and a "creamy and crunchy (adding treble for bite)" tone. With that said, this pedal, like all other pedals, will not magically fix or sound any good when starting with a bad clean tone (flubby, harsh, hollow, thin, muddy, etc.).

For years I've used the Xotic BB. The Soul Driven has taken the place of it now. It is the best overdrive pedal I ever used and I've used them all.Get it you won't be disappointed.

Lovely pedal from the guys at Xotic... This pedal had more gain than I originally anticipated but it's a really organic and harmonically rich gain so I'm not complaining, the controls are super useful, I love the mid boost, and the tone control works great. It can be used as a clean boost, which sounds, really good, not a big fan of the lower gain sounds though. This pedal makes me want to play Clapton-esque licks, and it sound amazing with the tone on your guitar rolled back. I Would recommend as with most Xotic pedals, I love the Sp comp and the Ep boost as well.

This is my new go to overdrive. It sounds nice and creamy and not too distorted. It does not sound like a TubeScreamer or a Klon, or any other overdrive I am familiar with, so it has its own voice. I really like the mid boost control. It can really help a guitar cut through the mix. The Soul Driven also cleans up very well with the guitar's volume control.The Soul Driven stacks very well with a J Rockett Archer Ikon.As with most drive pedals, the Soul Driven is a little noisy when cranked a bit. Not noticeable when playing in a band setting.
