If you've never had to plug a tire before, you're lucky. It sucks. They don't always work either. This little plug kit is the best design I have ever seen and it's pretty easy to use. The fact that it all fits in a nice little kit that you can keep in the glove box is better. I prefer this over standard kits, but it does cost more. Overall, great item if you don't mind paying for it.

Very fast and easy to use. Compact, light, and should last forever. The metal plugs are reusable. They are small and easy to loose in the field though, so I added a tiny bit of tape over the holes they are stored in, so they stay in place. A simple, cheap, no-brainer solution that works perfect. Compared to other options in the market this WTB Kit works great and is well priced. Happy with my purchase.

I've had this thing since August and not a single flat. Go figure. Well I'm not going to get a flat on purpose just to test it but do have a few comments that may be helpful to anyone considering purchasing this tool.It weighs 56 grams (about 2 ounces), so it's not the lightest such tool out there. I'd say it's reasonably light but solid. It fits my hand nicely and feels like it will be comfortable to use. Many of these types of tools hurt your hand and/or are difficult to push hard enough to get the plug (aka "bacon strip") into the tire and to stay put when you pull the tool away. That really shouldn't be an issue with this one. The endcaps pop in place snugly so it's not going to fall apart in your pack. The plugs are unvulcanized rubber that is sticky and soft, like it should be, and still is after about 4 months in a very dry desert climate. This particular system is unique in that it uses little aluminum "anchors" that firmly hold the plug on the inside of the tire (so when you pull the tool away, the plug stays put). It's similar in concept to a Stan's Dart but reuseable and much sturdier. These anchors are kept inside built-in tubes within the case but are still loose enough that the anchors do rattle around and WILL fall on the ground to be lost for sure when you open the case to fix a flat.Overall, it is very well made but I still think the regular price is a bit high. These types of flat repair systems also work best with heavier tires with a thicker casing. I have yet to find anything better than a simple needle and nylon thread for sidewall repair, which could certainly be placed within this tool to make it more complete.

The Rocket Tire Plug Kit is a great idea and the reusable anchor system is the key. It's the same principal plugging a car tire using a reamer tool except on a rare or frequent occasion, the plug leather can slip out, especially with increased speed. The anchor system assures it stays in place until you're back in an area to properly replace your tire. The tool itself is a size of a Bic lighter filled with two large and two small anchors. It also has an air escape stopper on one end of the cap while the other end has the "rocket" to affix an anchor and as many plug strips you need for the job. The rocket can also be screwed out or in as needed per instruction. Big knobby tires is recommended to use the larger anchor and more road type tires with smaller anchors. This kit may be just right to have for car tires as well, depending on the hole, but I have a dedicated plug for cars. That said, it wouldn't hurt to have this in my car and be a Good Samaritan for other cyclist on the road.I haven't had the chance to use it and not going to go look for trouble and intentionally take a nail to my new tires on my Mtn bike, but I'll carry this rather than a tube. All in all, I think they did a great job in minimal form design and operation. There are several instructions on Youtube from the company that is worth watching to prepare yourself for that moment of truth. I'll likely buy several of these and hand them out for Christmas to my friends. Also, if you're riding with tubes, you're out of luck. This will only work for tubeless tires.

With the small bullet and 2 bacon strips, I finally plugged a tubeless road tire and inflated it to 80psi without the plug popping out. This is the one.
