This unit is quiet-ish with the noise similar to a white noise wind sound...not too loud but no louder than the separate sound machine I was already using. There is no "mechanical" noise from the machine. After about a week, I noticed that I am no longer sneezing or coughing in my bedroom and dust accumulation is minimal compared to before. My sleep is much better as well. My grandson was recently in my room and told me that the room smelled "fresh"...I am very happy with the purchase. I'm tracking how long the filter lasts. and am sure that it's a highly individualized duration. Hopefully, finding filter replacements and the cost will be reasonable.

I've had this for almost 2 months now and it has made a huge difference in my apartment (600sq ft). It is very quiet, and quickly removes odors from the room. The biggest change however is the reduction in dust build up on furniture. Where I would have to dust weekly, I can now push that to almost 3 weeks. Also, I have noticed a reduction in dust build up in the two bedrooms (one I use as a home office) so it seems that as long as your air is circulating through your rooms it will make a difference.I purchased extra filters when I bought it thinking I may go thru the first one quickly and so far its been qood and still working well.Overall a great buy and would recommend getting this unit.

I have the bigger version in the great room and it works great so I decided to buy this for my bedroom because it gets dusty in two days. It seems to work well but it gets really loud at times when running on high. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. I leave it on automatic so sometimes at night it gets louder when I’m sleeping. Unlike the bigger one I have in the great room which has a sensor that makes it go into night mode. This one has night mode but you have to manually set it. Otherwise it works great, my dust is less than ever and I can breathe better so it is worth it.

Si hace mucho ruido, incluso en la modalidad silenciosa. El filtro se ensucia más rápido y como viene en bloque hay que cambiarlo completo. Me gusta más la versión grande del winix.

Hace un tiempo compré el Winix 5500-2. Como quería sumar dos cuartos no grandes, compré un par de Winix A230. Asumiendo serían tan buenos como su hermano mayor.Enchufé el primero y puf, ruido de se prepara para despegar en modo 1 (de 3). Asumiendo estaba descompuesto, instalé el otro. Lo mismo.Cumplen su función de purificar, pero el ruido es molesto. Quizás hay que usarlos en modo dormir, pero dejan de ser tan eficientes.

Lo mismo.Cumplen su función de purificar, pero el ruido es molesto. Quizás hay que usarlos en modo dormir, pero dejan de ser tan eficientes.

Hace un tiempo compré el Winix 5500-2. Como quería sumar dos cuartos no grandes, compré un par de Winix A230. Asumiendo serían tan buenos como su hermano mayor.Enchufé el primero y puf, ruido de se prepara para despegar en modo 1 (de 3). Asumiendo estaba descompuesto, instalé el otro. Hace mucho ruido, tengo este y la version mas grande el grande no hace nada de ruiso pero este aun en la opcion de dormir es muy ruidosoNo se puede tener en encendido para hablarEn la purificación no es muy sensible , no gasten mejor busquen los winix mas grandes
