Gorgeous! This round serving tray made from steel is absolutely wonderful. It is the perfect size for so many uses. I love the simplistic round perfect design. I love that it doesn’t have edging or holes cut in the sides for handles but is a simple perfect round tray. I’ve already used it for grouping candles in the middle of the table. I can use it as a snack tray. I can use it to put a grouping of perfume bottles I want to display all together on this beautiful silver tray. Because of the style, the sturdiness, the color, and the minimalist look of this tray the possibilities of use are endless. I didn’t know how versatile and how much I would use this tray until I got it home, I absolutely love it.

This is very much a decorative steel tray, that is to say its chief function is to look good. It’s fairly lightweight and I would be concerned if carrying anything very heavy on it. One of the photos on the product page shows it being used to hold a wine bottle and I think that would be ambitious. And most likely would end in disaster if you picked it up and carried it. It doesn’t have the stability required to carry tall or heavy objects.It’s a lovely tray, but it’s mostly for displaying cheese and crackers or charcuterie on a stable surface. Or it can be used as a charger plate. Or to hold candles or condiments or the individual dishes in a thali plate. Or put an ice bucket on it and some bar tools. Frankly, I could see myself using this as a pizza pan. It’s on the thin side, but not flimsy, although it does bend a bit… there is some pliability to it. So, all in all, this is a nice steel tray at an affordable price point; just don’t expect it to carry much weight.

The WHOLE HOUSEWARES decorative round stainless steel tray is a very simple design. It is almost 13-7/16 inches in diameter. The steel is thick enough to make it very sturdy. It is nicely finished and would work well for serving or to use as a food platter at a party. I had a very different task in mind. I wanted something to set my skillet lid on when I am at the stove. The lid covers a 12-inch skillet, is usually very hot and has lots of condensate. This tray is the perfect size to cradle to lid and keep all the condensate from dripping everywhere. Since it is steel, the heat close to the burner does not affect it. Since it is slim, it is easy to store with other lids. It won't break, like a big stoneware plate might. And it is easy to clean, since it is stainless. This should stand up to years of use and work perfectly.
