I tested this using a 10G USB-C port on the back of my desktop PC and used the 10G ethernet cable I have running back to my network equipment. I usually pull about 8-9gbps when running a speedtest to my home server, so 80-90% of the spec. I got similar results with this USB NIC - I got about 4gbps up and down with the peak closer to 4.5 gbps, so again 80-90% of the spec.Drivers are not currently listed on their main drivers page that they direct you to in a packaging insert, but I was able to find them on their website via search engine search. Based on the driver, it appears that this uses the RTL8157 realtek chipset.

I really wanted this adapter to be the solution. It’s compact, well built, and promises great speeds but in practice, it just didn’t cooperate. I tested it with both a Lenovo P14s and a Dell 9330, using a 10Gbps SFP in a TP-Link/Omeda TL-SG3428, and it fought me the whole way. Connections were inconsistent, link drops happened more often than I could tolerate, and performance just didn’t hold under real use. It may work better in simpler setups, but in my case, it didn’t play nice with either machine or switch. Great idea on paper, and the hardware seems solid, but it fell short where it counted for me.

With these types of adapters, they normally either work or they don't, and you can't really expect much from them.In this case I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was able to achieve the same transfer speed (about 400MB/sec as I do from my "normal" Ethernet port.Typically (because I have a 2.5GB adapter) moving to USBc would tend to slow things down, but it was able to keep up with the maximum my internet connection will allow.I was able to send and receive from my Synology NAS at the top speed of the NAS (120MB/s) which is the same I see with my regular Ethernet port on my desktop.You don't need one of these until you have to have it, and it works very well.Incidentally, it also works with Hercules CTCI connectivity in those cases where you don't have a physical ethernet port, and CTCI doesn't function with wifi adapters.So this is a win-win. I subtracted one star for the lack of directions. It's not hard to figure out what to do, but it would be helpful to tell people how to set it up under Windows 11..

Plugged it into my laptop's USB-C port, and Windows 11 recognized it right away. Plugged it into my 10G router and confirmed it was connected at the advertised 5Gbps. No driver installation was required.Ran an iperf3 test on it to see what the transfer rate is. Not quite the 5Gbps but not too bad at over 4Gbps. See attached photo.
