Very bright. Bigger than I had anticipated. So far good battery life.

I was in the market for a flat flashlight, and this one came up on my search. I chose this one over the brighter version because I know these can get hot. It works fine, very bright as are the multifunctional COB light and I like it. The charge port is next to the switch. For me personally, I would’ve preferred referred the switch on the side or the charge port on the bottom. It seems solid.

It might be an exaggeration, but this light is so bright, it's like having the sun in my pocket. When used on the brightest mode, you cannot look at this light directly without causing damage to your eyes. It's that bright. The output is incredible from such a small light. It fits in the hand or the pocket, but it packs a punch. I love the brightest mode, but I also know that it uses up the battery life much faster on the highest setting. But, when I need to see what's out there in the dark, it is unparalleled.The lamp end gets hot to the touch when you use the most intense beams, so be careful. It does get hot quickly too. I make sure I am careful not to set it down on anything flammable when it's this hot, just to be safe. It's a great tool and does a wonderful job chasing away shadows. I am out in the woods and need a good solid light. This fills that niche well.It is a hefty light too. This is no lightweight piece of equipment. When you pick it up, you can feel the heft right away. The case is made of metal and is sturdy. I've dropped it once and it did not dent at all. The battery is built-in and not user-removable. The light body itself is wide, rather than having a round barrel like most of them do. That means you can sit it on a table or shelf and it won't roll. There is also a tripod mount threaded on the bottom of the light. That's useful if you plan to use the side light to do something like light up your campsite. Simply set up the light on a tripod and you're ready to go. There are a variety of tripods that could be used with this, including the flexible types that would allow you to attach it to a tree branch in a campsite.The battery charges up in a few hours. Then, it's a matter of which mode you use the light in. The high lumen modes drain the battery fast. The lowest mode is not as bright, but it still plenty bright enough for most outdoor tasks. I really like the side light. It has a diffuse light that makes the illumination more comfortable for things like reading outdoors. The forward facing LEDs have four modes. The side light has a high and low, and a red mode.The light comes with a lanyard already installed. It has multiple options for carrying it and mounting it. It is IP56 waterproof, which means it could withstand high pressure water jets. It is also somewhat dust-proof. Basically, it could easily stand up to a strong rainstorm, but not submersion in water.Overall, a great light with fantastic output. Battery lasts a decently long time. I love it and am very happy with this purchase.

It's very bright on the highest setting but only for a few minutes before settling at a lower output, and this seems to be the case for any light mode(excluding the strobe). Using a Lux meter to test this it looks like the light output ends up at about 25% of its "max" after 3 minutes or so, and then will stay around that level for as long as the light is on or the battery lasts. This is not uncommon however, it keeps the light cool by slowly reducing its output but also gives you a few minutes of a brightness you otherwise would not be able to have. That said I think its good to know in case you notice the difference - this appears to be part of the design.The "timer" appears to reset every time you turn the light off and then back on, so if you really need to keep the high output I suppose you could repeatedly turn the light off then back on but this might cause it to overheat over time. This approximate reduction in output from 100% (when you turn it on to a given setting) to its final (around 25%) state seems to take about 2-3 minutes. It does not seem like it matters which mode you use (high, medium, low, side light etc) they all follow a similar trend and will reduce until finally settling at a lower constant output. I was not able to see if the strobe mode does this but I doubt it does.On to battery life - its good, I got about 5 hours on high on the main light and 11 hours on high with the side light. You can expect more than this on the lower light modes. There are 4 blue LEDs that roughly indicate 25% increments of battery level.USB output - nothing fancy it looks like its just 500ma 5V standard USB power. My meter read about 3 watts of output when charging my phone - slow but it will work in a pinch.Flashlight design - the flashlight body is all metal and square so it will not roll when placed on a surface. The front light lens appears to be glass and the side light is plastic. The power button is next to a rubber cover that opens to expose the USB-C charging port and a USB-A output port. There is an included lanyard and a belt clip on the body of the flashlight. Dimensions approx 5.25 inches in length, 1.75 inches in width, 1 inch in thickness.
